Tip: quick way to highlight

You can set your highlight of choice to a short cut. Mine is a yellow highlighter and I have it set to 1. so, all I have to do is select the section I want and hit 1. Walla!  That section is highlighted in yellow.

I use this all the time too but instead of "1" I chose "Y" for yellow.

I use a palette with a shortcut letter for each style (as pictured) and then to review the highlights, use inline search with {Highlight *} (thanks to Graham) with the palette select in the search criteria. This extracts all other text out and lets me review ONLY the highlights, but ALL the highlights from that palette. The only thing that could be better is if the capsule wouldn't have the generic search result highlight filtered over it which make it hard to see. Other than that, this is by far the best highlight strategy (for my needs) that I have come across and I've seen quite a few on here.
