TIP of the day - oldies weekend: wearmarks, search results etc.

At times the scrollbars show little "stripes", seemingly related to "other content", although I haven't yet been able to work out the pattern. Do they show search results, or the location of cross-references from the currently visible page? Or something else more esoteric?
The stripes are "history lines" they denote things like "history" or "search results" depending on their color...
hover your mouse over one and see....
if you enter "scrollbar" in the help file you get the definition of what they are.
