Beta 6 is, indeed, faster than beta 5. Many things, including scrolling up/down, highlighting and creating clippings feel snappier. Not sure what was done but it seems to have had a good effect. Very nice!
+1 grateful and impressed user
Wiki Release Notes:Added a resource description pop-up to resource hyperlinks in the Commentaries and Cross References sections
This does not appear to be working for Witherington's The Letters to Philemon, the Colossians, and the Ephesians : A Socio-Rhetorical Commentary . The others show info and image, this one just shows the title.
2010 17" MBP with High Sierra, iPad4 with iOS10.
Upon further investigation ... if the commentary title is too long for the width of the passage guide (i.e. it is truncated buy the window) then the title is displayed and not the info. Making the width of the PG wider enables the full info pop-up.
I would have expected the full info pop-up at all times since it does include the full title at any rate.
Scott H. Clark:Scrolling still hesitates a bit for some reaoson. (ever since beta 4). I'll post more on that tomorrow after I've done some more testing, etc. It may also be smoother than before, but I couldn't tell yet. I'll know more after my study time tomorrow.
I stand corrected. After restarting my laptop and starting "fresh", the scrolling only hesistates slightly as the linked resources follow along. It's FAR BETTER than beta 5 and completely workable. THANKS.
So, the only real issue I still have is the lag between clicking the highlight style and actually having it show on th screen, and that's about half of what it was.
Definitely quicker all around than b5. The CPU usage that was bogging EVERYTHING down is now back to a more reasonable place.
Oh, and THANKS for fixing the "clippings" bug that kept me from opening one of my clipping files. It opens correctly now.

Love the information setting menu!
Okay, I give up. Where is this setting? I see the Language program setting, but not the Information panel setting.
EDIT: Never mind. I see it now. It's not in the settings menu. And it's not about the resource information panel. It's in the separate Information pane that you can have along side the other panes. I didn't see it because I rarely (i.e., never) use it, and normally have it closed. It also seems to slow down L4's responsiveness.

Yes I see the problem when the resourse title is longer than the width of the window: the full title pops up in a box when the mouse is over it, but the description doesn't. When the full title fits in the window, the full title box doesn't pop up and the description pops up fine.

It's in the Information window, not the Program Settings window:

Thanks for reporting this; I've filed a bug.

where?
I found the other one for the information panel.
Is this referring to "font" choices under the Program settings for the differing languages?

Bradley,
Perhaps yet again I can try and persuade you to give more information when a new build comes out. This thread is a perfect example. You bring us two new features, and then make us all hunt and peck to find out where in the world they can be found. Is it really a help to beta testing when folks who have been at this for some time (in some instances beta testing multiple Logos versions over months and years) can't find what is new?
Would it really hurt to take a little time and upload a screen shot or two? Really?

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Hunting and pecking for new features is part of the adventure of beta testing. Also, it often finds new bugs and makes the software better because we aren't all directed to use the features in the same way - some testers try something different (by accident or on purpose) which uncovers unknown, undocumented "features" (bugs). For those of us who don't have the time or skill for exploring the application, this forum helps fill in the details of new feature mysteries through the work of others.
Before we ask more of the Logos team I think we should look into Bob's heart and the heart of his team members(http://www.bobpritchett.com/blog/2010/01/on_failing_our_customers.html). Bradley and the rest of the Logos team are on this forum during work hours, late evenings, early mornings and weekends. Asking them to do more than the heavy lifting they already do may be asking a bit much - let's help them by taking the tidbits they provide and continue to share our discoveries and experiences on this forum so that through our partnership in the development of Logos software we all may glorify God through the study and teaching of His Word.
Thank you Bradley, Bob and the whole team at Logos. Let us know how we can help lift Logos software up like a wave offering to God's glory.

Yes, I agree with Tim and here is one more new feature we asked for many times:
when you are in the open resource and look at the book info, you can see and change the stars and tags. Wonderful. It is very useful. I usually tried to rate my resources while using it. Not in the Library. Thanks Logos. Good job.

Agreed, with both of you gentlemen.
Thanks to you, Bradley, for your quick responsiveness here on the Forum, along with the entire Logos team working hard to keep dropping one Beta after another ... in the midst of our incessant clamoring for more, more! Speaking of which, how long's it gonna be before...

Yay! That's one I've asked for. Thank you, Bradley and Logos!
And yes, I love hunting and pecking for new features and learning about them from other forum users. I'm very happy that Bradley gives us the long list of changes and bug fixes with each new release, even if it's in shorthand that we have to figure out sometimes. He's good about answering when we have specific questions. I wouldn't want him to take any more time away from getting the rest of the features implemented to write up release notes for us.

Each drop is like going on a treasure hunt... We never know what we'll find.

So, as Beta testers, if another Beta tester asks us how to find a particular item, we should tell them to hunt and peck? Should BillS not have told us about the new ability to rate in resources because as Beta testers we are supposed to hunt and peck...
I'm with Fred on this. It would add approximately three minutes work to make 6 screen shots and post them to the forum along with the release notes. Personally, I don't think that this is an overly onerous burden to place on the already overworked Logos staff.
If we can't find new program features, we cannot test them... This is the essence of Beta testing - not hunting and pecking...
