Does anyone know where the cross refs come from that show up in the cross ref section of the PG?  Just curious.  Thanks.

Good question. Also what is the significance of the references in bold face type in the lower right?

I always assumed they came from the TSK or New TSK, but now comparing the PG ones with the TSK ones I'm not so sure, since they are ordered differently.

Until the issue was raised I hadn't checked it either, but I think we can eliminate a straight extraction from either of these two resources. The cross references don't track against the cross references in the NASB or ESV either.

I would be curious to know of you run a PG on Rom 12:1 do you get the same results as in my pic above?

I've assumed that they are taken from the resources listed at the top of the srction.

I've assumed that they are sorted into canonical sequence.

I've assumed that the ones in bold type are the ones that are displayed - probably selected on some measure of relevance.

I've assumed that if I observed carefully, I would have to modify my assumptions.

Surprising what we can look at again and again and assume we understand until someone actually asks us about it and we have to take a closer look.

So we are all out of assumptions and don't have an answer.

So I watched the logos video on PG again just to observe and compare.  They did a PG on Luke 2:1-7.  I did the same and observed slightly different results.  I know it is hard to see but the red arrows indicate a ref not found in the other list.  The fuzzy list is from the video.  The other list is from my PG.

I'm not surprised.  The videos were made while the program was still in the pre-release beta stage.  You could probably find many minor differences.

Bump for the Logos folks who are back to work from the weekend. Where do these cross-references come from?

Logos people, are they from a Logos developed database, per chance?

The top section, under the Cross References section, is a list of cross-reference resources in your Library, such as the TSK or NTSK. The data type for these resources is 'Bible Cross-Reference Index'.

The lower section is a combination of cross-reference footnotes from Bibles in your library. These are sorted first by frequency, then in canonical order. The top five verses include a preview.

Thanks Melissa!  What do the bolded references indicate? I noticed that the preview verses are always in bold in the reference listing, but so are many others:

Also, as you can see, it would be nice if the reference list for a passage was organized by source verse.  This list is for Isa 9:1-7, and it gets pretty unwieldy. I could do a PG for each verse individually, but it would be nice if the PG did it for me.

I think the bolded verses are those that occur most frequently (i.e. what's meant by sorted by frequency), sense the listing is always in canonical order
