Here is mine log. I actually reinstalled 6.04 to see if it would be different and of course I cannot launch the application to go back to 6.05 beta
I was actually not thinking that someone would respond since being a beta junky I know the risk, though this crash might deliver me.
Thanks alabama24.
PS: Is there a full download of the new beta?

True, but the logs might be helpful to the developers anyway. Thanks for posting them. [Y] [:)]
Generally you can get a download link from the "Hey, here's a new beta" thread. See here: https://community.logos.com/forums/t/109932.aspx
Well with Apple releasing the public beta today I hope this is not a slippery slope.
Also, I check that link and the get info still says it is a 6.4 build. I don't know if they don't change that in the beta. If there is a fix we will need a direct download as we cannot launch the application at all.
Thanks again!

Hi Rino,
Unfortunately this is an issue with El Capitan that Apple changed with the public beta (as in, it wasn't broken in the earlier developer previews) which broke a fundamental aspect Logos relies on. We have a developer looking into it, but it doesn't sound like it will be a quick fix.
It's worth noting, also, that we don't officially support beta operating systems. As such, I would caution Logos users against updating to El Capitan unless they have another machine they can use Logos with.
Sorry for the problems you've encountered, and that I don't have a solution for you. If you have a Time Machine backup of Yosemite, it may be best to restore to that point and avoid El Capitan for awhile.
No complaint on my part. Its Beta on a Beta, woot! Here is my log if that helps.

Thanks, Jeffrey. I'll pass that along!
Just out of curiosity, do you know what broke Logos with the beta 3 of El Capitan? Most of my logs looked like some lib files were at fault. I had crashes with beta 2 but could launch the app directly through terminal but not with an alias. After beta 3 update... just crashes. I do have a non testing machine so I am just asking in case there is something I might want to try to break on my testing machine in regard to the mono system libraries.
Apple's beta site has the following message that might give some hope to those who do not use a second machine...
https://beta.apple.com/sp/betaprogram/guide
I don't know the specifics, as I'm not a developer, but I know there was some aspect of Mono that was changed/removed in beta 3. Unfortunately that's all i know at this point. [:(]
Dylan,
Like I said earlier in my post I totally understand beta, done it for a long time. My hope was just to help out with logs and see if others were having the same issues so that it was confirmed. Thanks for the reply.
Apple pushed out the 32bit app supplemental update and 6.5b1 still crashes on start. Here are my logs.

Apple pushed out the 32bit app supplemental update
Logos is 64-bit on Mac
Yes, I know that. I did not know if the 64bit mono libs would be dependent on 32bit libs or what Apple changed. I am beta testing and just trying provide logs for Faithlife Devs. The El Capitan beta 3 broke or removed something. Sys lib dependencies can be an issue.
A friend (Kevin Purcell) mentioned that El Capitan (beta) and his Logos 6 (beta). He wrote me, saying "Haven't had any issue with there latest logos beta and El Capitan on my Macs"
Have you seen any success yet with these two playing nicely together?
Thanks everyone!
UPDATE: Apologies. I spoke too soon. I just rec'd this:
Logos seems to work with the first developer preview but not with the public beta.
Is there any word on a fix? L6 B2 didn't fix it and the supplemental El Capitan certainly didn't fix it. Just wondering.
From macnn.com news (emphasis mine)
09:40 Apple released public betas of OS X 10.11 El Capitan and iOS 9, both of which are still very buggy but do offer a sneak peak at some of the new features. El Capitan and iOS 9 both seem faster to us, but that may be in part because there are a lot of apps -- and we mean a lot of apps -- that crash or freeze or otherwise don't work right, saving enormous amounts of time. One serious problem with 32-bit apps has since been patched, but there are still a lot of problems. Heed the warnings about beta software people, and put these on a spare machine unless you like pain, frustration, and lost data. We'd say these are only for the people who are serious about testing and reporting.
One final question regarding this issue, will the fix come from Apple or Logos? I have resorted to using Logos 6 on Windows 7 utilizing Vmware. It works but would obviously rather use OSX.

We don't know. The change in OS X could be a new, permanent change which will require a fix by Logos, or it could be a "bug" in OS X requiring a fix on their part.
An updated version of Logos will include a fix for this crash on El Capitan.
Thanks Bradley. [:)]
Thanks Bradley
I believe the issue is the new security frameworks implemented in El Capitan that prevent installation into and moves all application files out of the system locations outside of those locations. The way that L6 installs and stores data will have to change to be in compliance with the new protocols. The protocols are IMO are really good for end users so far as the OS experience goes, but I would just imagine that it will require quite a few changes for application developers. I am sure that the Faithlife app devs are up to the task. I am looking forward to what I believe will be a more stable experience for Mac users. Yes, I am cheering ahead of time and I am praying for the devs as they step up to this learning curve related to the security frameworks. Pretty sure that means cool mobile Apple device stuff is coming... I am hopeful.
This should be fixed in 6.5 Beta 3.
Anyone verify this yet?
It would be great if we could actually specify in OS X where the index and databases get stored within the installation dialog.

Yes, it is working.
Where do we get this update?
See this thread: https://community.logos.com/forums/t/113235.aspx
EDIT: I assume you are new to Logos beta testing. Make sure to change your download channel back to stable after the release goes live... else you will end up downloading the next round of betas.
Thanks for the quick response. I think I have been following the wrong thread! I have not been using Logos Beta, but I did download El Capitan beta and it crashed my normal Logos 6. Just waiting for some updates from either Apple or Logos to get me back up and running.

Beta testing should not be performed on "production" machines... In other words, if you NEED the application for work, don't beta test on your only/primary machine.
In this case, however, I would say "go for it." Your other option is to wait for this release on stable... which may be several weeks away yet. As I said above, make sure to change back to stable once this beta round goes live on stable.

Thank you for the advice..I appreciate it.
It is working for me too! Thank you!!
I am back up and running...thanks for the help!
Glad to hear it. [Y]
@alabama24 - Thanks for the tip about the hyperlink activation
Sure thing. It is annoying, but it was implemented a couple of years ago as a piece of anti-forum spamming measures.
I'm still getting a crash on a mac when it's syncing. I'm using Beta 3 that was released a couple of days ago
Please create a new thread, explain your issue, provide appropriate details including logs. If you need instructions, see my signature line.
This is not related to the security changes Apple is making as part of El Capitan as Logos does not currently install anything in any of the newly forbidden locations. The crash on launch was caused by a change Apple made to the internal threading structures in Beta 3 right before they released the public Beta 1. They appear to have updated that again in the latest Developer Beta 4 release today as Logos 6.4 now launches just fine so it might be working once they release public Beta 2.
Thanks, Martin. I was not sure. I have not looked at any of the crash logs. I did have a launch crash of stable release L6 on beta OS X. But the beta on beta seems to be running fine. I think Apple wants to make so everything will run on the watch. I am too old and my eyes are not good enough to read on the watch.[:)] I am about to update my testing machine to beta 4 this afternoon. Praying a new church database app I am working on will sparkle and shine there.
