This began with an earlier version of Logos 6, but I could bypass it by bypassing the home view and launching directly to a layout view. That is no longer the case.
Now it happens on launch. (FWIW, the logos website forces the same behavior).
Problem: the launch of Logos 6.4 forces my Macbook Pro Retina to use it's discrete graphics processor instead of the expected and less power-hungry integrated graphics card. This causes a much faster decrease in battery life when I am away from the office. The problem persists even when the layout is greatly simplified.

Thank you for your post. We don’t dictate what device the OS chooses to handle our graphics requests with.
Something changed in how heavy a graphics request is being made. It hasn't needed the discrete card until this latest release. Any way to lighten the graphics request?
Steve Pruitt,
Just to let you know that I also hope to see that Logos can do something about not using discrete GPU if possible. So that you don't feel so lonely
My current experience:
I started reporting since Logos 4, this was what I post when Logos 6 was launched https://community.logos.com/forums/p/96503/664803.aspx#664803

Thanks! I use gfxCardStatus, but haven't been forcing it to use the integrated processor, but I think I'll start.

Steve,
Just incase you are not aware, when you want to set selection to Integrated GPU on gfxCardStatus, you need to select twice for selection to stick
Hi all,
Found that Logos Bible Software 6.5 (6.5.0.0027) does not trigger discrete GPU any more (at least the various senarios that I have tested). Thank you Logos
YES! Likewise, LimJK!
It's no longer triggering the discrete card, even in the home view!
Thanks Logos.
