Unfortunately for a while now my biblical places, people, and things, in my passage guide, have been extremely slow to populate. I had hoped it would get better as updates came in but it has not.

Unfortunately Logos Logging is not enabled so there is no information.
But you need to be more specific about the issue e.g. OS (Mac), specific examples for Passage Guide, how long those sections take to populate (BTW Biblical People isn't a section).
Provide a screen shot of your Passage Guide so we can see what other sections you are generating. Does it help if you restrict the Guide to only those sections?
