Hi,

I've been doing a lot of digging into the search features of Logos lately. Why do I get two different results when running, what seems to be the same search, in Bible and Clause respectively?

For example, When I run this search in Clause using the SBLGNT: person:God  person:Jesus person:Holy Spirit I get 10 results. The search range is the same.

However, when I run a search in Bible using the SBLGNT for: <Person God> <Person Jesus> <Person Holy Spirit> I get 205 results in 43 verses.

Why is there a difference? Shouldn't this be an example of executing the same query two ways? Thanks for the help!

They operate on different boundaries - the Clause search is finding where all three terms are present in a clause while the Bible search is finding where they are all present in a verse (and this is much more)

That makes sense. So clause search is more like syntax light, and uses the same clausal outlines for the search? Thank you so much!

It is a form of Syntax search but some clauses can span multiple verses, so it is clear that smaller clauses are being used.
