Recently I ordered "The Unseen Realm:..." and I am reading it on my Kindle.  I would love to load it in Vyrso or Logos to be able to link the references in the book.  Is it possible to import my digital copy?

Eric, it sounds like you are saying that you purchased a Kindle version of this rather than one offered in Logos. If that is the case you can't import it into Logos. (sorry)  But you can always purchase a Logos version too. Wink

I've purchased my copy in Logos because I want the tagging etc.

Welcome to the forums Eric.

Yes, you can import a digital book into Logos.

First convert the book into a docx document in word.

With this and the book cover ready, you then make it into a personal book in Logos by going to Tools --- Utilities ---- Personal books.

Click Add book and fill in the details: Name of Book, Author etc. then build the book.

For the book to appear on all your devices, you click on Upload when you have finish building the book.

Thanks for pointing this out. In my mind I was answering the question whether it could be "directly imported" and the answer is "no". But a personal book could be a "possibility". Also note that most Kindle books are "locked" and can't be imported into other formats. See the following discussion earlier in the year about this - https://community.logos.com/forums/t/98818.aspx

Yes, it is quite possible to do.  As stated, you must convert it to a docx format before you can make a personal book of it.   Calibre is a free program that can help you do that.  And when you convert it, the Scripture references will probably be tagged, but the other serious tagging that goes into a Logos book will not take place.  (Unless, of course, you do it yourself, which is usually too much time and trouble to do.)

So the book can be read and searched in Logos, after conversion to a personal book.  But it will not be fully tagged.

Does this book have decent tagging in Logos for journals and other types of footnotes and references? To be honest, of late, I have seen many Logos books which could be tagged well but have not been.

This is the great unknown. A few years ago, if a book was made available in Logos format, it was well-tagged. More recently, IMO the QC on tagging has gone downhill some. If you look at the volume of new resources coming out, I think the drop was unavoidable to some degree. Add to that confusion among buyers between Vyrso books and Logos resources, and it gets even more confusing.

I have started emailing customer support and asking about things like indexing and tagging. In some cases, I've gotten clear answers that helped me choose whether to buy the resource or not.

I would recommend that anyone buying a poorly-tagged resource not simply 'eat it', but ask for a refund and let them know why. You can always re-purchase it after the tagging has been improved.

My thanks to the various MVPs. Without them Logos would have died early. They were the only real help available.

It is my experience that most poorly tagged new resources get fixed quickly when a complaint is made. It is getting old resources up to snuff that is the major problem.

Bruce, this is problematic when the book is not offered by LOGOS.  I'd like to purchase a Viola title, The Untold Story of the NT Church..." but it is simply not available other than Kindle or other e-reader.  Having to convert the book to Word is also a problem with time and functionality.

I am unsure what you are trying to say. If a book doesn't have an ebook version in any format, why would you think it could be imported to Logos?

As for the Viola title: Notice the highlighted section from Amazon:

The book referenced IS in Logos: https://www.logos.com/product/31449/finding-organic-church-a-comprehensive-guide-to-starting-and-sustaining-authentic-christian-communities

Nevermind about the Viola book. Embarrassed

I searched for the book you were looking for (via bing... trying it out) and was taken to the page shown above... Don't know why. I Searched Amazon for the same book and found this: http://www.amazon.com/Untold-Story-Testament-Church-extraordinary-ebook/dp/B0051OKXK2/ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr=
