Can you elaborate? If you are trying to use features which require internet, your experience will be determined by your internet connection. If something else is slow, please explain and provide more details.

i have poor internet, so would prefer just to use logos on iPhone 6splus depending only on downloaded resources , one thing i like to o is see what a word means in dictionaries , so when i click on the word logos on iPhone takes ages using the internet , can i get the iPhone version to work like my mac version does where its not to slow to use waiting for poor internet to bring up recourses online , can i change its preference to work only with downloaded library , i have olive tree and accordance and they work really fast without internet , i would love to use logos the same way ,

It's annoying when that happens. Unfortunately, there's no "offline only" setting within the app. Personally, I temporarily switch into flight mode in this scenario, and then the Logos app copes pretty well.

Mark's advice, above, is good

But the particular functionality you refer to here requires an Internet connection to work.

Faithlife rarely comments on future apps. At this time, all comments have pointed towards a continued dependance upon cloud services for many features. If your desire is simply to read a book and take notes, there is no need for a good steady internet connection (except when you want to download and sync notes/highlights). If you are looking for original language lookups, library searches, etc. you will need an internet connection.

The ability to look up english words in an english dictionary is available offline in all resources. The ability to look up english words in NON Bible resources is also available all the time. Both of these look ups come via the iOS dictionary options. The "normal" look up feature in Bible resources requires an internet connection and utilizes the "cloud." There are no public plans to change this in the future.

Nearly everyone I have spoken to says unfortuney it relys on Internet to study words ,  i wonder how may people would find it helpful to be able to use offline ,  I know with me and three others it would really help bible study , may every one as good internet now , but for those who take study seriously with slow internet , will find them selves waiting a while for the dictionarys of Greek and Hebrew to show , I know olive tree and accordance have done it ,

is there many people out there who benefit  from a full offline logos app for there iPad or iPhone like with accordance ,

i will have a look , just to say i would not spend thousand pounds on software if i was just wanting a english dictionary , usually most people who spend the thousands you can pay do because they want to study , if i were you i would look at logos from the users view and ask your self how have spent thousands who have poor internet , there may be only a small few , o it could be more

can you recommend any bible applications a iPhone  that could be used offline for good bible dictionary study that don't go really slow and function poorly if a person has poor internet ,  it looks like i will just have to use my mac for logos , and look for something else that works offline , i prefer logos , i have accordance that works offline and olive tree that does , its just going to mean having to buy the rescourses, spent nearly and thousand on logos but just have to accept , its not functional efficent study in areas with poor internet ,

I would suggest downloading both Bible Reader by OliveTree and Accordance... ACC has the benefit that it's free version of iOS app contains ESVi a complete version of the ESV tied to Strongs. OT is, in my mind, the best iOS Bible out there. It is fast and contains many resources (it's major downfall for me is lack of NRSV tied to Hebrew/Greek but the NIV is a fair fall back for me). Faith life's iOS apps are nice but for me are far far too dependent on servers to be much use. Even when I have a fast connection I find my iPAD wants to be doing network things 2-3 minutes before it will let me do anything, when I initially start it. Logos is where i have the bulk of my resources yet because of lacklustre performance on my iPhone 6/ iPad (3rd gen) it is the last app Bible App I go to unless I am wanting to use a resource that is specifically in my Logos Library. FL has great software and has decent iOS apps, but at times they feel like they are completely ignored. FL has lost sales to me because I need good access to a resource on my iPAD. Prayer lists on the mobile APPS got more requests the greater offline usability in the votes and FL is close to releasing the mobile APPS with that feature in it. But I really wish we could get a firmer time line on when we might see it, rather than a vague response telling us it is likely coming based on user requests.

Prayer lists is in beta testing on iOS. I think it got delayed because of iOS 9.

I agree that OliveTree would be a great choice if you wanted an app to study the Bible whilst offline. That said, it's been months since I last used it, as it's rare I need to study away from an Internet connection.

For clarification: I do not work for Faithlife. I am a user like yourself. Unlike yourself, I believe in different tools for different jobs. Any "study" I do is on my MacBook. Any "reading" I do is on my iPad. I use my phone while waiting in line at the grocers or doctors office.

Prayer lists in beta for iOS9? Do you know how I could sign up for a beta version of the iOS app? That would make me a very happy worship pastor.

I agree with Dan and Mark. Go with OT. Their customers can perform basic Bible word studies without Internet access. I spend at lot of time off-line and use their software often.

Dan, this shouldn't be the case. Could you please send in your logs (Help > Report a Problem) and include this thread URL in the email (so I can tie it back)?

Is there a particular resource you have in mind that cannot be accessed on mobile?

Prayer lists have been in beta for a few weeks. We don't announce dates of when features will be available or give timelines. If we did and we missed the date or got the timeline wrong for some reason it would not make customers very happy. If you want to keep up to date on the beta information I can send you an invite to the Faithlife App Beta Group - please let me know.
