Listing all commentaries

Question: I just upgraded to version 6. From the HOME page, when I type in a specific text, e.g., John 14:1-6, as the commentary list populates, it does not list ALL the commentaries unless I click on "more" which I need to do several times because of the number of commentaries. How do I change the setting (IOW, where?) to allow ALL the commentaries to be listed each time per referenced text?

I'm sorry but there isn't a setting to change it - but you are not alone in wanting this behaviour to be changed. See https://community.logos.com/forums/t/113376.aspx for a relatively recent discussion

Andrew, this behavior is not ideal, but is preferable to sitting and waiting for several minutes while long lists of commentaries load.

Ideally, the user would have a choice, as you suggest, but right now we don't. In my opinion, the approach Logos takes is the lesser of two inconveniences.

But I'll vote with you on a button that allows the user to choose.

One thing I did was prioritize my commentaries so the ones I really like populate first. That makes me click "more commentaries" less, unless I really need to see more.

I have not been able to figure out how to 'order' my commentaries by preference. May I request you guide me to how that is done? That would be wonderful.

Thank you! I couldn't have said it better. On collections I did that for all my Spanish commentaries and all my Study Bibles along with one volume commentaries. You can create a custome passage guide or just add them to your existing one. VERY helpful!

Are these (instructions and examples) in hard copies? If not. why not?

Truly, is there a big book of instructions for new comers or general users?

Regardless of how thick or many volumes, one should be given a hard or at lease be able to secure one through purchase (the fairness of it, is another story).

New users who have bought a base package can learn the essentials by watching the 28 introductory videos by Morris Procter. E.g.:

Anyone who doesn't own a base package can download the older Logos 5 Quickstart videos for free.

If you really want a print manual you'll have to buy the Training Manuals by Morris Procter.

No, and now you know why my footer looks like it does.

FL has been improving the help file quite a bit, and new users aren't as lost as they used to be. But all but a handful are dependent on these forums when they get stuck.

It shouldn't be that way.

Is this true? This is not good. If it so, this is a form of manipulation. Many claim that FL is responsive to the needs of Logos Software Users. This is basic. Do they really want people to get the maximum usage out of this product or control customers to visit a certain website? I hope not?

If God can give man a written manual (The Ten-Commandments) for living, why can't FaithLife give a written manual for the Logos Software to newcomers and especially, to those with large libraries?
