Here we are … just like Pavlov's dogs. Conditioned to receive our next tidbit of L4Mac Alpha every second Monday at lunchtime PST. Now it's past lunch and I'm hungry for Alpha 14.
If it's any consolation, you're not alone. I'm looking forward to this next release too. The last few alpha releases have included some exciting developments. Let's hope A14 doesn't disappoint ...
Wiping the pool of saliva off of my desk.
very conditioned. and i live in the EST so it's like 6:15 here and still no update. my "work" day is over so i have to spend time at home watching for the logos update.
maybe the delay is something big and they will surprise us all with a beta release...wait my alarm clock is going off, time to wake up from my dream.
all about Christ,

It's alright for you but I live in Scotland (GMT) which is about 4 hours ahead of you. It's 11.25 pm now. Time for bed and I never got my Alpha 14. I wonder if I'll manage to sleep tonight?

When is a14 due? Are they scheduled releases, or just when they're ready? These posts sound like you guys have some insider info!
They have been releasing updates every two weeks, on Monday, around noon. So, that's why we have all be waiting eagerly for an update today! It's "due" although the devs have not officially announced any release times or dates.
When is a14 due?
I keep reminding myself that while it s now 7:15pm here (EST) it is only 4:15 there. Alan, that stinks for you!
They said their goal was an update every 2 weeks and they started out real strong and within the speculated releases, the last update 13/13a was 2 weeks to the day.
Joe,
You lost all your posts and your badge and your avatar! Say it ain't so...

Hopefully something good (like Word by Word exegetical) will show up tommorrow
I don't mean to be a downer (because I've been checking for updates today too) but it looks like that chart of release dates indicates that the team usually releases in the middle of the week rather than Monday. I've always heard don't buy a car that was made on a Monday; I don't know if the same logic follows but maybe they are working out some last minute kinks before we get a great release. In the meantime, back to more curling in the Winter Games and reading about exegetical theology.
interlinears would be nice too
I am most concerned with the performance right now.
The beginnings of the WordByWord section will be in A14, which will most likely be released sometime after 8pm UTC on February 23rd (which is tomorrow if you're in the USA and tonight if you're in Western Europe).
Love the anticipation. Since I'm generally the person who actually does the releasing of the Alphas, I'll give you guys an idea of how this works. Hopefully, it will help everyone sleep at night:
Our target is to release whatever we've got every other Monday. So those predicting a release today have correctly followed the pattern of releases. However, even though we're still in an Alpha stage, we realize that many of you are actually trying to use the product and, as such, would prefer a release that is as regression-free as possible. We'd also like to avoid situations like the last cycle where we have to release an update 24 hrs later to address regressions.
So, in this case, there were a couple of items that we wanted to ensure were working properly before we shipped, which means that we won't be releasing before tomorrow.
Thanks for the updates Cameron - you, Tom and the team are doing a great job
Thanks for the info, Cameron. Very good to know and to hear.
thanks cameron, you all rock! now i can sleep soundly. looking forward to christmas tomorrow.
Cameron
It was good to wake up to your news today (now 9.15 am GMT) and know that now I can just get on with my life – preparing sermons, writing a pastoral letter, visiting folks in hospital.
[:)]
Ok . So now I'm getting worried. It is now 230P Central. Can I get an update? Please?
It is now 9.08 pm GMT/UTC and still no A14. On rereading Cameron's post I see the fateful phrase "sometime after". Oh dear, I feel I'm in for a long night …

On rereading Cameron's post I see the fateful phrase "sometime after"
That said, I did indicate that we'd release it on Feb 23rd, which suggests that it will come on or before 23:59 UTC.
I don't know what to say. I now find myself checking the web site from my iPhone, then rushing home from work and checking yet again for an update. This is getting to be like an OS release. At least for me. [:D]
Cameron and L4 Mac team, keep up the good great work.
There is some bad theology going on here. The word is, "no one knows the hour or the day" and yet even Logos staffers are trying to tell us the day! I am almost convinced that the release will be a false release and will lead to destruction all who follow it. If it comes on the predicted day, it cannot be the true coming! I will have to turn off auto update and wait until A15 in the hopes that it will be the true coming of the next alpha.
Well A15 is surely the sign of the beast as 1+5=6 and Cameron has 2 6s (there is a 6 and a 1 and a 7 if you take the 1 from the 7 you have another 6) in his post (Posts 167). There you have it 666, the mark of the Beast. Please be a beta instead of A15, when the time comes. But first, let's get A14.
AAAAHHHH
Did I hear a trumpet...
all about Christ,David Buckham
I believe it is UTC+11 minutes.... Cameron.....
no response, the world must have ended and the raptured occurred but started in bellingham...still time to repent
OR
they are busy putting final touches on A14 and the devs keep saying "wait, add this please"
Have you gentlemen tried update now recently?
terry tried it just now and waiting 30 seconds...nothing. do you know something i do know?
Have you planted spy cameras in our office? I knew we were being watched...
"The best laid schemes o' mice an' men..."
We're working to get it out ASAP.
Tom,
I believe you or Cameron told us before that is how most of your releases have gone with one of the 12 (I think 12) developers wanting to add a small line of code at the last moment. You're not being spied on, but just...remembered.
Nope, it didn't work for me either, I was just wondering [;)]
Terry,
man, you got me. i was all a twitter with anticipation.
I am glad everyone on here has a great sense of humor. We know you guys are working hard and we greatly appreciate it.
I work in software support and there is nothing worse than when a system is down having everyone asking when will the system be back up.... Yet here I am bugging you about an Alpha release. What has Logos turned me into....
YBIC
