As noted here, Apostle seems not to produce a filter at any location.
Also, Spirit, seems to display only prepositions and articles adjacent to Spirit.
As this works for me, I wonder if you have a problem with the index of your ESV. Can you check other Bibles?
Can you check other Bibles?
Not working in NASB or NIV either
"Spirit" appears that it is working correctly for you. When you do an inline search, the yellow highlighting that shows the search hits takes priority over the red highlighting that shows the active lemmas. If you close your inline search pane, you should see the results properly. The prepositions get highlighted because the propositions in English have been added by the translators, and are mapped to the lemma along with the noun.
I'm guessing this is also your problem with "Apostle" in the other thread.
No, unfortunately, I didn't use inline search until i was trying to locate more occurrences of apostle. My first screenshot shows it in a typical Bible display

Yes you are correct. After my initial attempt to locate occurrences, I left inline search on. But it is working correctly while inline is off
Can you paste a screenshot(s) of your resource prioritization?

I don't see anything in your prioritization that could interfere with this. I'm still entirely unable to recreate your problem.
Can you paste the Support Info section at the bottom of the Info page for ESV and BDAG?
Also, can you try using Louw-Nida instead of BDAG, and see if it works there? https://ref.ly/logosres/louwnida;ref=LouwNida.53.74
Note that you don't need the filter turned on in the Lexicon. You only need it in the Bible.

can you try using Louw-Nida instead
Yes, I tried and no filter displayed :-(
That all matches what I've got. Let me review the problem to make sure I've got it all straight.
You open up BDAG to ἀπόστολος: https://ref.ly/logosres/bdag;hw=$CE$B1$CC$93$CF$80$CE$BF$CC$81$CF$83$CF$84$CE$BF$CE$BB$CE$BF$CF$82
You open up ESV to John 13:16: https://ref.ly/logosres/esv;ref=BibleESV.Jn13.16
You turn on "Emphasize actives lemmas" in the ESV.
No red highlighting is visible at John 13:16, but if you navigate the ESV to 2 Cor 11:5, you do see the red highlight. https://ref.ly/logosres/esv;ref=BibleESV.2Co11.5
Did I get all that right?
Can you try setting ESV to link set A, then open a Bible Word Study and set it to link set A. Then click on the word "messenger" in ESV at John 13:16. The Bible Word Study should run on ἀπόστολος. Can you paste a screenshot of the Bible Word Study panel after you click?

Yes, I followed your links, from a blank layout and exactly as before, "super-apostles" was red, "messenger" (John 13) was NOT
To chip in, mine looks just like yours Andrew, but as you can see I have "messenger" lit up in John 3:16. It goes on and off at times, but ay time I go away and come back to it, it is highlighted:
James, can you try turning off all of the visual filters in the ESV except for "Emphasize active lemmas"?

I tried that and it is still not working
I've added some extra logging to the application that will be available in Beta 3. After Beta 3 is installed, you will need to copy the attached file to your "Logos Log Files" folder and rename the file to Logos4.NLog.config. This will enable the extra logging. Then run the application, open up ESV and BDAG to the appropriate places. Scroll the Lexicon to a different word and then back to ἀπόστολος. Then exit the application and post the resulting log file.

Thanks Andrew, it's not that big of a deal that it doesn't seem to work on just this word, but it makes me wonder if other errors may be lurking beneath the surface that this may simply be a fruit of. We'll find out in beta 3
Yeah, that's my thinking too.
