Bug? 4.0b Beta 12: Some dictionaries missing Parallel Resources icon

The following dictionaries don't have the Parallel Resources icon on the locator bar:

  • Anchor Yale Bible Dictionary
  • Harper's Bible Dictionary
  • Holman Illustrated Bible Dictionary

Just showing one example, but all three of them are like this (and the rest of my Bible dictionaries do have the PR icon):

It's not there because the active index is page number and not headword.

This is an annoyance in many of the dictionaries: unless the resource is opened to precisely at the beginning of the entry, you don't have headword indexing (Click on a TOC entry, and I bet you get it back).  This makes the PR icon come and go as you scroll through the document.  Makes the parallel resources feature difficult to use for dictionaries.

That's what I thought at first too, but in AYBD I'm trying and trying to get it to go to the God headword by clicking on it in (or other entries) in the TOC, scrolling up and down just by a tiny amount at a time, etc., and I cannot for the life of me get my display to look like yours, with God (or any other headword) in the reference box. Ditto for Harper's and Holman. Could it be that I need to rebuild my index? Uggh. I hope not. I'd been managing to avoid all the other indexing problems that people were reporting.

Has anyone suggested that they do something to ameliorate this annoyance? What would you suggest to make it more intuitive to use?

If you click into the Reference box, is there an option to switch from page number to headword? If you can switch, once the headword is in the box, the Parallel Resources Set button will appear.

Yes. Cool, I never knew about that feature. Thanks!
