What is anger? What does the Bible has to say about it (anger)? Do we avoid anger at all cost and after it manifest itself, we learn to manage it, until we can get rid of it? What do the philosophers (non-Logos users) have to say about anger?  In short, is anger something to be avoided, used, managed or something to be gotten rid of by any means necessary?    C. M.

Thanks for the direction, but how do this? I know somethings, but not all things.

Until then, any books or authors on anger?

If you click on the link ChristianDiscourse.com and you'll find a forum in which to post.

Or enter <Topic Anger>  as a search argument and see what you have in your library.

One idea is searching for anger in articles about application:

([field heading,large,surface] anger) AFTER 88 WORDS ([field heading,large] about,activity,application,assignment,contemporary,devotion,digging,discussion,exercise,guideline,homework,practical,reflection,"secret place",steps,think,tip,"to life","to live",”ways to”,"what to")

Thankful for Preaching Theme search in Bibles:

{Section <PreachingTheme = Thankfulness>}

Thanks for the suggestions on "anger". Still learning.

Your Logos Forum Handle reminds me of an old song, "You can Smile." It's by Alfred Henry Ackley of Spring Hill, Pennsylvania. He was an ordained Presbyterian minister. He also worked with the Billy Sunday and Homer Rodeheaver evangelist team.

I will you it as a theme song as I mine this unhappy topic. Here's looking back at you.

You Can Smile

There are many troubles that will burst like bubbles,
There are many shadows that will disappear;

When you learn to meet them, with a smile to greet them,
For a smile is better than a frown or tear.

Tho' the world forsake you, joy will overtake you,
Hope will soon awake you, if you smile today;

Don't parade yur sorrow, wait until tomorrow,
For your joy and hope will drive the clouds away.

When the clouds are raining, don't begin complaining,
What the earth is gaining should not make you sad;

Do not be a fretter, smiling is much better,
And a smile will help to make the whole world glad.

You can smile when you can't say a word,
You can smile when you cannot be heard;

You can smile when it's cloudy or fair,
You can smile anytime, anywhere. Big Smile

Thanks again!    C. M.

Big Smile plus found some relevant thoughts by searching "you can smile"

Thankful Rejoicing in the Lord allows tears to flow for those who are weeping, which is followed by Joy in the morning.

Thankful for choice to be angry or Thankful (that includes unpleasant stuff); personally not know of a gray area between being angry or Thankful.

FYI: my forum handle (and facial expression) is my variation and reminder of Philippians 4:4

MJ,

Thanks again for the direction. I duplicated the search phrases as illustrated in my library. Of course, you have a larger holding which explains the different outcomes. However, I would like you and the other "MVP"s to give my questions on "Anger" in ChristianDiscourse.com some consideration. I am especially interested in your perspectives. You appear to be insightful, reasonable and balanced in many of your expressions (though, not always in agreement). If interested and time permits, I remain.

Lee,

Thanks for repeating what is perfectly clear. I was merely thanking MJ for her help and informing her that I followed the suggested tips. Forgive me for not being clear, but my intent was to invite her and others to the appropriate forum (ChristianDiscourse.com), if she or others choose to do so.  A hint to the wise is sufficient. There may be a better way to do this. Until then, please accept what I said above as so. I am sorry you misunderstood my post to MJ.

More peace and understanding to you,

C M

Hi CM.

I do not know if it would be helpful, but consider the following workflow:

Use a topical type resource like:

https://www.logos.com/product/15542/the-new-thematic-concordance

https://www.logos.com/product/43263/the-a-to-z-guide-to-finding-it-in-the-bible

https://www.logos.com/product/1227/where-to-find-it-in-the-bible

https://www.logos.com/product/2257/find-it-fast-in-the-bible

Look for anger, wrath, hatred, indignation, etc.

See what passages of the Bible apply, and then use the technique suggested by Dave Moser:

https://blog.logos.com/2014/06/how-do-you-use-logos-dave-moser/

The results will probably give you a broad grasp of the subject, and you will probably find further references.

Blessings.
