It used to be better. Logos would pick up that I am not connected to the internet within a few seconds, and then give me the dialog to start in offline mode. Now Logos 6.10.SR2 takes 20-30 seconds to search for connection, gives me the dialog to start in offline mode and ... spends another minute "syncing." Why?
often it simply hangs after a few minutes and I have to restart. This process is way too long. I think it needs to be re-engineered to streamline the start up process.
in addition, if I am offline and I need to check for updates, why do I need to restart the app? make it simple "Do you want to connect?" and go from there.

That is to ensure a proper startup of online services. Certainly not as simple as you would wish, but it is more efficient even though your main issue shows it is slow detecting a lack of internet connections.
