No download for me either - I did UPdate Resources too. Oh well...

As recently as last year, it has taken Logos as long as a full week to charge my credit card and allow download of newly created resources. I remember this happening with the latest volumes in the New Amer. Comm series. Other folks were discussing them on the forum for days before I could get them.  Why I seem to be low on the delivery priority list I don't know.  Maybe you pastors are flagged for top priority delivery and haven't realized it! Smile

In recent months, probably around the roll out of L4, Logos deliveries of newly released resources has improved.  Nevertheless, I keep my expectations for delivery low.

I find it much less distracting to check at the end of the day if new resources are available. I prefer to download and index resources overnight. That way the laptop is completely free during the day.

That's my two cents.

Have you guys gone to your account my orders section ? There should be a download link there where you can download the books into three, Then version 4 should recognize it.

Nothing in mine either. But they have not charged my card yet.

They have to start somewhere. It's just not with me. (I don't mind if they prioritize the ship list by need (Preachers) vs want (me.)

Calvin has been gone for centuries. I can wait a couple more hours.

I'm not sure there is any rhyme or reason for the way the orders are processed, at least from the outside looking in. It doesn't seem that the earliest pre-pub orders or preachers are necessarily at the top. It would just be nice for Logos to let customers know what is going on or why downloads are not available on the ship date. If there is a difficulty, a notice on the forum here or a note on the order page would be helpful. I suspect there has been a glitch. I just hope they don't have anymore large collection releases on a Friday.

I agree with Bill.  How hard can it be to charge a bunch of cards all at once (getting Logos all the cash) and then send out a bunch of emails?  It also makes no sense since they announced a "ship" date (even easier, since we are talking about downloads.

I still don't have Calvin 500, nor has my card been charged for it yet. BUT, My account did process another payment this Sunday morning. I know it was already entered into the automated system as a recurring event while the Calvin 500 is a singular purchase but it makes me think there is a better way of releasing a new title. How about these ideas:

Never release on Fridays! (Currently, any problem calls Customer Service fields pile up all weekend long leading to frustration and backlog.) Hmmm... Hmm Another way of looking at this is the Forum solves many "simple" problems leaving only "difficult" problems for CS to deal with on Mondays... intended??

Designate a purchase hotline to deal with purchases ONLY. If all calls have to be handled three times each instead of once it bogs down the system uneccessarily. (Recently I called CS to pay off a payment plan early and the Rep gave me to tech support. I just hung up....& got hit with another $5 service charge because I'm still carrying a balance on that payment plan.)

Process all card charges on one date and release the resource on the next day. This is just a "make-everybody-happy" gesture that probably won't.

Let Matthew have Calvin 500 for the first Pre-Pub order price he mistakenly replaced with the upgrade order. Embarrassed OK, This is just a "make-Matthew-happy" gesture that would definitely work. After all, you know Matthew will just spend the savings on more Logos resources!

Admittedly, I'm on the outside looking in, but it seems reasonable to me, Matthew.

Well, it is Sunday evening after church. After eating a meal, I opened my notebook, roused it out of hibernation, and discovered the anticipated email notice. Soon afterward, Logos started downloading the best pre-pub I've ordered. I am so thankful to have jumped on this one early and stayed with the whole collection. I am looking forward to the morning in the study. Smile

I'm envious (shame on me) of those who got such a great deal on Calvin's collection. I wish I would have had the funds to order it myself. Although I have his commentaries hard bound it would have been nice to have his collection for Logos. Crying

I understand how you feel, Kevin. I was that way about NICOT and NICNT. I have to pick and choose among some very good pre-pub offerings. I'm just thankful I'm not interested in most of them or I'd really be frustrated. I cannot afford all the ones I want, much less all the ones available. Sometimes I have to cancel a pre-pub order right at the last, but I was able to hang onto this one.

Well I did get it today (Sunday.) I hate to think somebody had to work to deliver it. Maybe it is automated.

Still it cost me the last minute Pre-Pub price.

This is stacking up to be a BAD year for me. First my OKC Camp Logos got cancelled due to a snow storm. Then Zondervan qualifies the Pradis upgrade to only registered users. Then I had to cance/reorder my Calvin Pre-Pub at the last minute...........    And that is just the Logos related pain. I got plenty of other trials too.    Maybe I just need more quiet time in the prayer closet.       ~~~Going offline to count my blessings & download Calvin 500 now.

I just got mine.  How come I only got 72 new books showing in my library when it was done?  Anybody know why it wasn't 108?  I had the platnum when I started so maybe some of the 108 were already in that?  thx for info

I noticed the same thing, Joe. I haven't compared, but I wonder if the "108 volumes" counted the commentaries differently than the way they are grouped in the download. Even if that is so, it ought to be consistent.

FYSA, I got the e-mail tonight (Sun Eve) that the Calvin 500 "108 vol" pre-pub had charged my account; couldn't force Logos to download it until I exited/restarted Logos...then it did.

Agree it is odd there is such a multi-day delay between "going live" and becoming available for some folks...perhaps that just indicates the popularity of the product.

Now I just wonder if I'm predestined to get it all read... Wink

There are 75 files, so that's how many resources you should see get added.  That's how many links were on my email confirmation, and how many resources are shown on the product page at http://www.logos.com/products/details/5170

The reason there are 75 resources for 108 books is because quite a few have multiple books in one Logos book - for example, "Letters of John Calvin" is 4 volumes, but they are one book in Logos.

Dominik,

That's what it was for me, thanks.  For my collection 72 resources were added.  If I go thru the listing of Calvin 108 on the Calvin product page and collapse all the multiple books into a single file...it adds up to 108.  I opened one or two in my Library and as you say, the cover pages generally says that all the volumes are there in that one book.  joe
