Moody Titles

Could it be? Are Moody titles slowing making their way back to Logos?
I suddenly see Zuck's "The Biblical Theology of the Old Testament" and "The Biblical Theology of the Old Testament" being offered again...as well as a few others such as Peters "A Biblical Theology of Missions".

It's true. We're now able to sell most of the Moody titles we used to sell, plus a handful of new ones (as well as new editions of old ones). We just started today slowing bringing back the individual product pages. There will also be a collection for the MacArthur commentaries. Unfortunately, we won't at this time be able to offer any other collections—just the individual titles—and the MacArthur collection won't have dynamic pricing enabled. But we're excited to be able to offer many Moody titles after 3 1/2 years without them, and we hope you are too. More details forthcoming . . .

This is definitely good news as I came to logos after Moody was gone. Looking forward to getting those commentaries! Any idea how long this contract will go for?

FL won't discuss contracts.
As far as you are concerned, there is no reason to assume it will be short term, unless otherwise declared... but I would assume that would have already been done if the case.

So in fact, this is NOT good news. I'm not going to pay over $200 to get the one JM commentary that I had on pre-pub for $18.95 on 3/23/11.
Since I suspect a good number of Logos users have a partial JM commentary set, it won't make a lot of sense to tie them up in an unbroken collection. What are the odds?

They'll also be available for individual purchase, so you'll be able to buy only a ones you're missing and not repurchase them all in the collection.

Great news. Glad they are back. Looking forward to get a properly tagged version of the Moody Bible Commentary. The Vyso version just makes that a welcome release when it gets done.

A shame. If it's coming to Logos, that's worth a wait. Bought a print copy for my wife. Really good.

I have searched the Logos.com website for John MacArthur's New Testament Commentaries to no avail. I did find Moody as publisher but no Mac NTC. Can someone give me a link or is it not listed yet?
Thanks.

I think "be available" is the key phrase as opposed to are avaialable. They are very slowly adding new titles. Looks like they just added the set and are slowing adding the individual ones.

Neat! The Matthew commentary in print is 4 volumes but Here it is only one book. Is it the entire gospel of Matthew?

The Logos edition includes all four of the print volumes (which cover all of Matthew) in a single resource.

Umm, I probably shouldn't say this but: while that book is beautifully laid out and designed, it is full of inaccuracies and is largely unreliable.
I'm interested in a resource like that. What would your suggestion be for a more accurate alternative?

Mostly too much reliance on secondary and tertiary source rather than primaries. Some sections are better than others, and not everyone is given a fair presentation. This early paragraph also always makes me sputter:
[quote]Christian theology is another categorization that is sometimes used synonymously with systematic theology. The most recent work by Millard J. Erickson is so designated. Theological books by Emery H. Bancroft and H. Orton Wiley are other examples. While also systematizing theology, this designation emphasizes that it is written from a decidedly Christian perspective (but not suggesting that works designated systematic theology are not). But seriously, the book is laid out superbly, and I don't know of another that covers the same range of topics at a similar level of depth. Unfortunately, though, if it's the only source someone reads about certain theological systems, he's going to be left with some wrong impressions.
Just my 2 cents. If it were up on logos.com I'd probably eventually leave a review. [;)]

Primary sources are of course best--many, many summaries of Karl Barth, for example, get a lot wrong (on the other hand, how many people have the patience to wade through his 9,000 pages?) Excellent are 20th Century Theology and The Story of Christian Theology by Roger Olson, but unfortunately they're not in Logos. The Evangelical Dictionary of Theology is also quite good. It's actually more an encyclopedia than a dictionary but is one of the best theological references around. The individual authors of the articles are usually sympathetic to their topics and give them a fair treatment.

Why is LUKE 6-10 in The MacArthur New Testament Commentary Series on PRE-ORDER???????

Luke 6–10 was on Pre-Pub back in 2013, but was cancelled and never shipped due to contract issues.Kenute P. Curry said:Why is LUKE 6-10 in The MacArthur New Testament Commentary Series on PRE-ORDER???????
Four additional volumes will be making their way to Pre-Pub in the coming days.0 -

Are the other missing Macarthur volumes (Luke/Mark) going to be available for individual purchase, or is dynamic pricing going to be reinstated for the complete commentary collection. I have bought all the other volumes from Logos so would like to get these additional commentaries to complete the series. But at the moment the only option to get the missing volumes on Logos is to pay $476 for the complete set.

Thank you Matthew Miller
I figured that was the case.
I have the entire MacArthur New testament Commentary in hardback-copy (all 33 volumes).
The next pre-orders should be:
1. Luke 11-17
2. Luke 18-24
3. Mark 1-8
4. Mark 9-16

I was very pleased to see, to FL's credit, this volume put back on my pre-order *at the original pre-order price* I had when I placed it there on 1/21/11. This was a decent gesture toward the customer.

I wonder when the official announcement will be and the other titles added back in? It would be awesome if they had a welcome back Moody sale but I doubt that will happen.
