The launch of Logos 7 required many updates and changes to www.logos.com.  We focused things that would allow us to present and explain our new base packages in simple, straight-forward terms, and make it easier for everyone to explore and compare the options available.

We’re committed to delivering tremendous value through our base packages and rely on a number of tools to ensure that we do.

  • We offer special savings when purchasing base package collections
  • We offer dynamic pricing
  • We offer promotional and role base pricing
  • We offer membership based pricing
  • We take ownership at a resource level into account to power many of these

Computing all of this is quite involved, and when we’re doing it for multiple products at the same time, it gets even more so.

During a product launch, the number of concurrent users on our site, looking for this type of information goes up exponentially.  Certain pages are more problematic than others, and responsible for the outages you’ve seen since Monday morning.

Here’s where we stand:

Things working properly and as expected

  • Dynamic Pricing
  • Discounting
  • Giving users the “best deal” when more than one offer is available
  • Resource Lists on Product Detail Pages and Comparison Charts – All Resources view

Things working properly but not as you might expect

  • Resource Lists on Product Detail Pages and Comparison Charts – New to Me view
    • We’re traditionally shown a list of all the resources included in a base package, unless the package contained a collection of resources, in which case we displayed the collection
    • Now there are scenarios where we include portions of a collection within a base package.  We added a feature that lets us nest the individual resources below the collection itself.
      • We added a feature that displays the parent collection with a notice that “only some resources from this collection are included”.
      • We display ONLY the resources from the parent collection that are contained in the base package, along with either the current sale price for that resource or an “owned” note
      • Sometimes users are seeing a parent collection when filtering for “New to me” content, but then seeing all listed resources as “owned” – This happens when the user owns a resource included in the parent collection, but that resource is NOT included in the base package

Pages that are currently showing substitute content that will be improved in the coming days

    • This page is showing only regular prices, without dynamic pricing, and without discounts.  You’ll need to click through to a product detail page to see your dynamic sale price
    • www.logos.com/get-7
      • This is the page where we show upgrade recommendations for existing Logos owners.  We’re currently redirecting users to a self-guided quiz that offers a product recommendation based on usage preferences instead of ownership.
        • This page may be shifting between a static list and a fully interactive page over the next few days, but the content will be available to view.
        • This page may be shifting between a static list and a fully interactive page over the next few days, but the content will be available to view.

    Hi Glenn,

Thanks for this update. We're appreciative of what's been done.

One major point of confusion remains, however.

Many Logos Now members users are still reporting that they're seeing the box below when trying to buy Logos 7, even though the page is only selling them the library, to the feature sets. Can you please hide the circled text for people who have not actually selected the Feature Set (and also hide the "Feature Set Resources You'll Get" section too).

This is my personal Faithlife account. On 1 March 2022, I started working for Faithlife, and have a new 'official' user account. Posts on this account shouldn't be taken as official Faithlife views!

How do I see the comparison between Verbum and Logos feature sets. All I see are Logos sets.

Also, the first column is Logos Cloud. Is this the same as Logos Now?

A Logos Now membership includes access to the Logos Cloud Feature Set.  So yes, if you want to understand what features you will have access to with a Logos Now membership, compare the Logos Cloud Feature set vs the others.

We're actively working on improving this part of the page for Logos Now members.  It's confusing as laid out, and we apologize.  You should see the updates live shortly.
