7.2 Courses tool unavailable plans working as intended?
In an early 7.0 release, the Courses tool included Mobile Ed courses that we didn't have a license for.
When it was announced that 7.2 was again going to show courses that we don't have the resources for, I expected Mobile Ed courses to appear again.
Instead, the number of courses really hasn't changed (126), instead of the over 200 that originally were present.
Of the 3 partially available, and 3 unavailable plans, they are topical or book reading plans, not courses.
Did I misunderstand the change that 7.2 would bring? Will there be any way to see Mobile Ed courses I don't own within the courses tool?
Thanks to FL for including Carta and a Hebrew audio bible in Logos 9!

Which plans are you expecting for Mobile Ed? If you collapse each section you should see in unavailable at the bottom.

Those are no m.Ed courses.
It seems those are filtered out for whatever reason. What is worse (in my opinion) is that m.Ed courses no longer list the suggested reading resources, but only have the course textbook as "required" - even though they will display those readings in the course or not, based on resource license availability.
It would have been great to see m.Ed courses where I own a large percentage of resources - or easily see those resources I'm lacking for a course. I actually bought stuff from this view!

I expected to see any of the 152 live Mobile Ed courses which are available on the store which I don't own. I believe they used to show up very early on in the Courses tool development, until the ones we didn't own were automatically filtered from the list (in an attempt to remove the "clutter").
I assumed the whole intent of adding unavailable plans back in was specifically for Mobile Ed.

Hmm. That's a serious shortcoming! One of the advantages was being able to see which readings we had (or needed), right within the Courses tool!
The courses tool previously showed the full syllabus for available courses. I wonder why they changed that behavior.

Yes, exactly!
It's been tedious to see which resources a course needs, if you don't already own it. You have to follow/join its Faithlife group, download its Resources spreadsheet, then try to figure out what resources you have, all outside of Logos.

NB. Mick,
I let the team know about your desire to know suggested resources.

I think I'm not alone in that (see e.g . users John Kaess and Petah in parallel threads ) , in fact it used to be like that until it changed in one of the betas / RCs and I don't recall a Release Note or discussion . Maybe I overlooked it - and when I had seen that issue I failed to open a thread in the beta forum right away.

Bump - was there a resolution to this? Why do some not see the same number of courses? Why do I not have the Partially Unavailable or Unavailable sections?

Don,
I'm asking a team member to look into this.
Blessings,

Don,
I heard back from one the devs and I hope this helps.

If you are running Verbum then the number of courses available are different than on Logos.

These sections are also based upon what books you own and also the plans available in Verbum. If you own all of the required resources they show up as available and not partially available. All plans that can be showed in Verbum are available to you.

OK, thanks for checking on this Philana!

This is a bit ridiculous for those of us who have major Verbum and Logos packages. We should get the sum of all we have rights to.
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

I'll bring it up with the team member who works on this feature.
