Clippings
Can someone please explain "clippings" and "notes" to me? The benefit of using a computer is to be able to copy and paste from one place to another. Yet after I copy tons of quotes to "notes" and "clippings" I cannot then move them to my sermon, without having to go to the original source- an extra step, an extra window.
I expect more from software that costs probably in the millions (over the years) to make. Is this being improved in anyway?

Assuming Logos 7 desktop I don't think I understand ... I can copy and paste from notes and clippings without problems. So can you describe the problem a bit more?

not shure what you expect. You can either
1. copy and past direct into your Word Programm
2. Export single Notes or Clippings into your Word Programm
3. Export the whole Note/Clipping File into your Word Programm

Sure. To write a sermon, I go to Documents>Sermon, and start writing a sermon. But I want to use all those clippings and notes I saved up. However, I cannot seem to copy a whole entry from clippings or notes to my sermon. The source citation is lost.

John, I'm trying to use Logo's sermon writer function, rather than go to word or another word processing program. I like the way Logos automatically converts parts of the sermon into powerpoint slides, also how it keeps and categorises the source citations. The way a citation migrates from the book to clippings/notes is to keep the citation; but after compiling my notes/clippings and moving them over to my sermon, it is lost.

OK than I give over to the Proffs I have no Idea how to Work with Sermon Document.
I try to just drag the Clipping over, that's don't work...but if you highlight in a Resource and drag this over you get the Cite.
but let see what the others say

To "quote" a response to indicate to whom you are responding, highlight a portion of text in the forum editor and click "Quote"

I understand what you are saying - but the same applies if you copy a clipping to an external document unless you explicitly copy the citation as well.
Do you see the same or am I missing something?

I believe so. Is the only way around this to manually type out the source? It's not a big deal as I'm not typing a dissertation, and I don't publish my sermons.

Thanks Sascha. Sorry for calling you John before. I wouldn't want someone calling me Calhoun.
So, yes, that's a definite way of handling it. But I have been heavily using clippings and notes to compile my relevant findings from topic guide, sermon starter, and bible word study. To open each source again would take a lot more time.
BUT... I think that's what I'll just have to do. Either way, I'll be saving time in the future because I'll be settled on a method, even if takes longer.

Now you don't need to type it out.
If you hover your cursor over the bottom right of a clipping an arrow appears:
Clicking that takes you to the citation area which you can copy
In the example above this results in:
"Block, Daniel Isaac. Judges, Ruth. Vol. 6. The New American Commentary. Nashville: Broadman & Holman Publishers, 1999"
