i am confused by the terminology. i think panels are the basic elements in the layout and tabs are inside the panels correct?

why is it that when i choose "float this panel" only the active tab got floated?

also, when there are multiple panels open in logos4, is there a way to minimize/maximize panels and restore them later?

Panels and tabs are effectively the same thing.

And no, you cannot minimize and maximize panels, just re-size and stack.

Hi Dean,

The Logos 4 terminology is as follows:

  • There is one main Logos window that contains the toolbar, menus, etc.
  • You can open as many floating windows as you like.
  • A window is then divided into tiles.
  • Tiles are then divided into panels.
  • Panels are identified with tabs.
  • Panels and tabs therefore are virtually synonymous.

Hope this helps,
