Below is a screen shot with L7 open - notice the info provided in task
Task Manager Performance shows aggregate of all processes, which includes 94 % Memory used (so disk activity could be virtual memory management with lots of paging and/or swapping). Processes tab shows CPU, Memory, Disk, and Network per process.
Also helpful would be diagnostic log files to correlate Logos activity with disk busy => Report a Problem

I understand that Task Mgr will reflect the total usage- guess I should have been more specific- these stats reflect L7- normally Mem is at 2.8 gb, thats with Chrome, etc open and running- L7 drives it up to 6.9-7.0/ Disk varies (35-40%) but L7 runs it at 89-100%- no other programs or combination threreof does this only L7.
I do have a number of diagrams- especially Hebrews that is 260 pages in PBB that is a PNG copy I use quite a bit. I have aprox. 30 volumes of this type in my library- 8000+ pages.
Do PBB's constantly access the word file or once compiled are they stand alone?

A PB in Logos/Verbum is stand alone.

It would be useful to see the Proceses tab with Logos not running any diagram PB's.

I'm experimenting with a few things at present- I shut down everything on the home page, except my devotionals- that made a significant difference.
Trying a couple other things.

One option for Personal Books is replacing graphics with ones that are smaller in size.
Verbum 7.3 Beta 4 indexing ~200 MB of files while downloading Verbum 7.3 RC 2 has CPU busy, but SSD use is 7 % (for drive with custom Verbum 7 installation):
Screen shot note: PNG file is smaller (33 KB) is smaller than JPG (64 KB) for files saved from Snipping Tool. Paint.NET can open PNG and save as JPEG with option to reduce file size by decreasing quality: e.g. quality of 50 creates 39 KB file, which is humanly readable.
When Indexer is writing or merging files, then disk usage increases:

Thanks KS4J- changed Hebrews from JPG to PNG- thought I already had- loaded a lot quicker and the drag on my system was less.

Does anyone know much about Chrome- its to run a lot in my system- wondering I should just drop back to MS Edge.

Also found that shutting down the interlinear in your bible speeds up L7 significantly when loading layouts or opening a bible.

Hi Whyndell,
Having many complex visual filters and collections can waste a lot of resources as well, even when they're not active.
To negate the impact of complex collections, I think the only option at present is to delete them. Some users have suggested using the collections to create tags before deleting them, as a kind of replacement.
As for visual filters, I recall Bradley Grainger saying that they can be redirected temporarily to a bible or resource that you do not use.
There has also been talk of having too many temporary and saved layouts as another drag on performance (at least on startups). I wonder what other documents could be slowing things down. Do highlights and/or notes use resources even when they're toggled off? What, if anything, else?
Some resources seem to have more problems than others (e.g., in my case, "1000 Bible Images").

Adam- Thanks for the information- I had already started cleaning up my system- deleting a lot of unnecessary items- layout, filters, hilite pallets.
Hoping this helps- I use a lot of resources when studying- so stability and speed is what i want.

I do admit to a great deal of frustration when it comes to using Logos (now 7) on my MacBook Pro. It seems as if the more I spend, the less I get. I don't do much that gets complex, but Logos still runs at a crawl when I can get it to run at all. The last two days I had to abandon Logos in my computer class (Small Bible College) and call in another instructor with WordSearch to demo Bible Software for the class. 4 years ago I upgraded my MacBook from a 2008 with 4 GB of Ram to a 2012 Core i7 with 8 GB of Ram just because I thought it would help Logos. Didn't help at all. Although it is pretty much featureless, I find myself using the iPad version just because I can actually switch verses and/or resources without going to get a cup of coffee while I wait. I used to demo Logos regularly to colleagues, students, and fellow ministers, but no more. It's just too embarrasing. I think the product would be awesome if I could just use it.

Is this still the computer you are running?

I don't have the same experience as you. If you would like to trouble shoot, please create a new thread in the L7 forum and explain your issue clearly. You should give computer specs (including hard drive) and post logs (see my signature line). Make sure to explain what you are doing when you experience the "slowness" or whatever the issue might be.
