Mark:
Aren't there other journals in Logos that are not part of the Master and Galaxie bundles?

Yes. There are some journals and magazines that we can't bundle. I don't have a list off the top of my head, but I'll see if I can pull one together.

In short, to get all the journals/magazines available in our format, you'd need to buy (1) MJB, (2) Galaxie TJL, and (3) all the standalone journals.

Hi there,

Here are a few additional journals/magazines that are not in the MJB 4.1 nor are they in Galaxie's Theological Journal Library, vols. 1-20:

  1. Christianity Today
  2. Evangelical Review of Theology - this is only available in the WEA Theological Resource Library, Version 3
  3. Friendship Evangelism (Ministry Magazine) - this is in a collection that's currently on pre-pub
  4. Journal of Hebrew Scriptures (11 vols.)
  5. The Missionary Magazine - this is in a number of collections
  6. The Southern Review - this is in a number of collections

I hope this is helpful!

Kristina

I go to this page and just look up the journals that aren't showing I own them. I have Master Bundle. Here's what it's showing I don't have:

Hi Jack,

My mistake! You are correct; the Journal of Hebrew Scriptures is contained in the Master Journal Bundle 4.1. Thanks for catching this!

Going back to suggesting new journals we'd love to see in Logos, how about Presbyterian published by Covenant Theological Seminary?

Here is a quick description from the seminary:

"Our twice-yearly academic journal offers scholarly articles, book reviews, and other features on topics pertinent to biblical exegesis, theological understanding, church history, pastoral practice, evangelism and discipleship, and more."

Over the years, I have read and used several helpful articles from this journal in seminary courses and research. I don't know if this journal has been suggested before, but I'd love to see it available in Logos!

Hi Phil,

Curious for an update here:

Do both these sets need to run through the full pre-pub process or is it like last time and FL is already working on these?  Are they pre-pub or pre-buy?

What I don't understand is, we have been begging for new journals for so long. And now that the latest batch of journals is being offered, it is taking so long for the Pre-Pub to even barely get past 50% interest. I would have thought it would have been faster than this! Sad

My guess is that Logos are actively working on them - but the pre-pub mechanism is the means by which FaithLife 'drum up business'. So there is likely no need for the full cost of pre-pub to be met. What I am thinking they are not setting the cost of true cost - but one to hold the 'advert' in place until they are nearly ready

Just call me somewhat cynical!

However it might not be true - however I am not accusing FaithLife of anything untoward - just that they may be using the mechanism in a non usual way to get the job done.

Not really cynical—The longer they hold the pre-pub price, the more customers have the opportunity to get the bundle at a lower price Stick out tongue

I really have to concur here.  I am quite surprised myself.  All the ranting and raving on here and the abuse FL took, and after Phil and his team so graciously finally conquer the task, the response is pretty much apathy.  Really shows a lot!  Anyway, thank you FL for continuing to shine when and wherever you can!  Keep fighting the faith even when many merely want to criticize and not show their support when it is called for!  All the talk about JETS, and it is here and few have signed up for it!  I am truly disappointed!  All God's Best!

Maybe few have noticed - bear in mind the sales task is a rather passive one for this type of product. Aside from the emails sent direct to those who have signed up for them.

If people are disenchanted and don't spend much time here - they don't know!

I get emails, but are there emails specifically about journals?  Thanks!

I don't believe there is a separate set of 'journal' sales promotion emails.

Just sales emails that never seem to promote the journal offerings in Logos.

Perhaps there would be better take up if these were sent out and people then got the hear the good news.

I get emails from this thread specifically that updates me on journals, so I know what is new and can then avail myself of the pre-pubs!  So the tech is there!  One has to remain concerned and not get discouraged and revisit this page for that is what it is designed to do.

I think the Original Post I responded to was in regards to people not doing that and following through.

Also, you can no longer get journals like "Biblical Archaeology Review" (the archive 1975-2005)...there is one available right now at auction on eB**... however, but I don't think these are going to come back as BAS changed software partners.... ( e mail... j_korodaj at yahoo dawt com)
