Too bad there are no sample pages

CBD has a few sample pages, as does Amazon. I've got to say that the Vyrso price is excellent — substantially cheaper than print, and only a few cents more than Kindle. That said, I'm not sure how well the Vyrso edition would work, as the sermons themselves are facsimiles of handwritten notes.

The Kindle price depends on your location. For me, it's 14.99 both on Vyrso and Kindle.

Thank you Mark! I must say, though, both samples suck. Not one single sermon shows, only the so called time line and other foreword stuff. Someone complained that it was just bullet points and that they're not really sermons. Hard to make a decision without an actual sample of the sermon notes.

DAL, you can use Amazon's search inside feature to expose additional pages. Search for a common word like 'Christ', choose a random search result from the middle of the book and then turn the pages to view the search result in context.

I bought it! It has the facsimile of the sermon and then they type it out to be legible. The table of contents has a bug. You click to where you want to go and then it tries to open an internet page that cannot be opened. I'll look it over for a few days and decide if it's worth keeping.  Thanks again!

DAL,

You mentioned the facsimiles of the sermons  In the Vyrso edition, are they readable in size and presentation?  Screenshots?

It's not a bug, its a standard feature of Vyrso resources to come with a non-functioning table of contents that only gets fixed if enough users create a ruckus on the forums.  I suggest you create a new post in the Vryso forum, if you haven't already.  But to build a really strong case for getting a vyrso table of contents fixed you could need to get a big pile of votes on UserVoice.

You can sort of read them on mobile devices. I'd have to try it on my laptop to see if it has zooming capabilities.

You can export them to powerpoint, not the best resolution and it varies by facsimile.  Some images are better than others, but a little legible.  These are screen shots from my laptop.  I had to expand/float the panel so it'd be larger.  And no, I did not purchase two copies, I just copied the content to a new panel so you can basically have 2 copies of the same book open to read one on one page and the other to a different page.  Clever trick.  Over all, the content is ok.  The extra notes/commentary is what gives this book/series value (if you're interested in knowing more about Spurgeon's life).

Confirming all the text and pictures are very well done; There are charts and graphs included, as well as a link to each book page

...Also confirming the TOC prior to the list of pages I just mentioned, does not work and attempts to link to a failed webpage that doesn't exist

Observing how they are linked in app.logos.com:

It depends on the state you live in the USA 🇺🇸 or some other country. So far, my state is not required to pay taxes.

I am living in Kyrgyzstan, I have not seen this until now and I have been here for the past six years. I am not going to start adding this kind on tax to every ebook order, I will just choose not to get books from them.  edited: ok from the below picture it looks like the tax charged is not on every book. And from Vyrso with selected books it would be nice to understand why the deference. I guess now i need to be careful and read the detail on orders..

I checked a little more Vyrso has 5 books by Christian George, only the one for Spurgeon add the tax for me.

Faithlife / Vyrso needs to look into this maybe it is an accounting error.

If you have a US-based billing address, you can be charged sales tax on non-physical downloads (depending on the rules of the particular state). I think someone else from Faithlife should be posting a more detailed explanation tomorrow.

Bradley

Thanks but with the above books, only the one on Charles Spurgeon shows up as being taxed for me, I don't understand why it is the same Logos/Faithlife or the author is charging tax on one book and not all of them.

Yes I do have a USA billing address but I have not been charged tax for a very long time, meaning it is new for me after being with Logos for the past seven years.

Edited I checked my account history and I can't find that I have paid tax for anything so far from Logos.

It is just the added cost now that is getting me, because of this issue I didn't get the book on Spurgeon.

I hope you understand what I mean.
