Hello,

When using Logos on both my MacBook Air (2013) and iMac (Late 2009), both running macOS Sierra 10.12.3, I'm experiencing the same issue: When doing a general search on a passage I'm receiving an error message on the "Text Comparrison" window, which reads "An unexpected error occured, please try again." Additionally, when I attempt to run the Sermon Starter guide, it fails to load content. Here are the logs I was able to archive (before the Logging Utility also crashed):

6505.LogosLogs.timpeace.20170311-090553.zip

4034.LogosLogs.timpeace.20170311-090854.zip

Finally, I have ordered additional RAM, as I only have 4 GB of RAM at the present moment (since the recommendation from Logos is 6 GB+). Google Drive could be the culprit, because it was slowing my iMac down, however, the same problems occur on my MacBook Air and Google Drive does not run on it.

Any ideas that can be shared would be much appreciated.

Hi Tim,

The second zip file is corrupted. The first file indicates a a corruption error in your index on 4 March, on your iMac.

A corrupted index would certainly explain why you're having difficulties. However, before you rebuild your index, it's important to scan your disk for errors, in case there's a wider problem. It's possible that your disk drive is having problems, especially as it's seven or eight years old.

I'm not a Mac user, but I presume these are the instructions for scanning disks: https://support.apple.com/kb/PH22243

Timothy,

Are you still experiencing this issue? What passage and translations where you trying to use?

Hey Philana,

I should have followed up to provide an update. I ended up upgrading my RAM, and the problem resolved. Additionally, I may have been attempting to search too many passages at one time since my tech specs weren't up to speed with what Logos recommends to run on.

Thanks for checking in!
