Can someone confirm that the Reftagger plugin for Wordpress still works?  Reftagger has stopped working on all my Wordpress sites.  Is anyone else having difficulty with it?

Hello Christopher,

Thank you very much for your post. I apologize for the trouble you've experienced lately with Reftagger. Would if be possible if you could share the URL you're using with Reftagger and what kind of browser you're using? (i.e Microsoft Edge, Chrome, Firefox, IE)

There were some recent reports but it was found to be related to browser extensions such as Adblockers - it's worth checking if that might be causing the problem you are seeing.

I've just tried it using Chrome on iOS and it worked fine

Have you checked for ad blockers etc?

Yep....it was my ad-blocker.  I was using "uBlock Origin".  What do you all use for an ad-blocker that doesn't interfere with Reftagger?

Glad we have identified the problem

i don't use ad blockers so can't make any suggestions as to what might work

HA!!! I spent an hour tonight trying to fix RefTagger on our website to no avail. I also am using uBlock Origin. Once I shut it off, things worked fine!

That's not a question of the ad blocker, but of the filter list.

Almost all ad blockers use the EasyList rules set by default, which has an explicit rule in it to block RefTagger.

Just go to your adblocker configuration, and select some other set of filter rules. Of course that enables RefTagger for you personally only, but not for the thousands or millions of users who visit your website with an adblocker.

For a more sustainable solution, you could try to convince the EasyList community that RefTagger is no ad. (Personally, I don't want anything to do with them any more. They've also added explicit rules to block a few static banners from my personal blog, and then told me according to which rules I'd have to redesign my layout so that these banners would be considered "acceptable". No thank you...)
