How do  you search for two or more elements across multiple verses?

For example, searching for "Jesus" and "God" within 2 verses of each other?

Thanks

Basic Search of a Bible (or collection of Bible) can do a proximity search within a chapter:

God WITHIN 7-77 WORDS Jesus

Keep Smiling Smile

Thanks. What if I wanted to search for all the places where כי followed the paragraph markers ס or פ, like in Ezek 16:58–59?

Thanks

The only thing that seems to come up is Isa 36:16 where they appear within the same verse.

Provided you use Basic Search, (ס  OR  פ)  BEFORE 1 WORDS  כִּ֣י  will get the results you require.

Thanks. That does return quite a lot of results. I'm not sure how many are missing though. It seems to miss Ezek 26:18–19 (at least using the BHW).

Looks like you need to scroll through each chapter for other possible cases not listed in the results.

Both BHW 4.18 and BHW 4.2 return that passage. I doubt that any occurrences are 'missing', but you can increase the word spacing if you want other occurrences e.g. BEFORE 2-2 WORDS will find occurrences that are separated by exactly 2 words. BEFORE 2 WORDS will include the results of the original search i.e. where the separation is 1 or 2 words.

Hmmm... that and several other cases are not showing up in my list of results (even though they are highlighted in the BHW text).

And I wish I had more confidence than you in there not being any missing results. I've definitely found it to sometimes be the case.

in any case, thanks for the tip.

Don't be mislead by the presentation of results:

The numbers 2x and 4x state how many results are found in the chapter and only the first results for the chapter are shown.  Ezek 26 has 4 results and the first result is v.6, whilst the second is shown at v.7. You can scroll the bible to find the results at v.18, 19 or use Search Results in the Locator bar. The Up and Down Arrows will move to results before or after the current one.

Okay, right. That's what I was noting a few posts ago, but didn't put together the fact that the number of cases is also given. Thanks.
