Every time I try to copy and paste from a personal book, there is always a "n.d" where the date and publisher should be. I'm assuming n.d. means "no data." However, I did input the data while building the books. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Thank you.

Does that not mean "no date" ?

Using APA Style, where there was no date and publisher I got

Hooton, D. (n.d.). Peacemaker (Vol. 1, p. 2).

otherwise I got

Hooton, D. (2011). Peacemaker (Vol. 2, p. 1). D. Hooton.

where Date was 2011 and Publisher was D. Hooton

The quotes came from different volume/page milestones  e.g. [[@VolumePage: 1,2]]

5 years later, now Logos 9.5 and same issue; any fix? {replies only address meaning of "n.d."}

So when I copy and paste an entry from a personal book, the citation has "n.d." for book year, even though I added the year during the build and can see the year entered when I look up the book in personal books library list.

TY for any help. Don

Most of my PB's are like this also - but I am pretty sure it is because I usually don't enter the information Logos needs to provide the data - namely, I have not added the "Publisher & Publication Date" field in the Library Information section of the PB tool. This field is NOT listed by default, so it is quite easy to not input. But if you click "Add field", you should see a way to add it.

When I just did a quick test of a PB where I had entered this metadata, a cut and paste into MS Word DID give the date and publisher, like it does in full Logos resources.

Thanks Ken.

As you can see from the post, the year is included for Personal Book but citation lists "n.d."

PS. I get that "new life vs. new law" provides an alliterated sound bite and will "Preach!" But if that new life includes being related to God as one of His people, personal knowledge of God, and forgiveness of sins under the New Covenant, it also includes His law being written in our hearts, no?

You have to click "Add field" at the bottom of the Library Information section and select "Publisher & Publication Date" for this to be in the citation.

Yeah. For whatever reason, the citation system ignores that date. Instead it goes with the year from a different field, namely "Publisher and Publication Date", which is not a default field listed. Instead, you have to click "Add Field" to get access to it.

I would maybe phrase things a bit differently, but largely what you are saying is what I am mean by quoting Wm. Mann, namely, that our problem is not that we need to be told what to do, but rather that we need a Heart Transplant to be set in a right relationship with God in Faith. And when we are set in that right relationship with God in Faith, everything of our lives is transformed, since in Christ we ARE a new Creation. And of course, this new relationship will be lived out differently as we see the whole world as the world created by a good and loving God, who came to us in the Flesh, and has sent us the Spirit of new life and new possibilities. And I pray for that day when God's desires will fully be written on my heart, while also recognizing that I am not there yet - and the Law of God thus seems strange and alienating because it reminds me of how I live my life comes woefully short, even as I know that I need this Law...

I missed this requirement in intro rules to the forum - Is such there?

If you are the moderator insisting on a particular format, maybe that should be the only option for a "newbie"  following the quick reply prompts? Currently allows for document attachment.

No specific format originally requested, btw.

Guess I am outta here.

There are no rules but there are conventions that will get you more people looking at the problem. In this particular case, I cannot open your .doc and am not inclined to troubleshoot why. I also almost never open videos. And I can't help without your images because I can't recreate your problem ... there is some disconnect between your description and my interpretation -- a common problem in the forums which is why we ask for additional information or screen shots or ... It is not a demand, it is a simple request of what one or more of us need if you are to get a satisfactory answer. What I would want to see in a screen shot of the metadata you entered into the Personal Book tool prior to the compile.

I still do not see you as having added the "Publisher & Publication Date" field.

Don,

The Copyright info is visible in the resource's Information page, but is not used in the Citation (also shown in that page). The APA citation includes Author, Publication Date, Title, Publisher  (in that order).
