The standard introductory textbook in christian dogmatics for students in the Netherlands has been translated into English.

Christian Dogmatics by G. van den Brink and C. van der Kooi was published in Dutch in 2012 and has been well received. The English edition is published by Eerdmans:

Michael S. Horton —Westminster Seminary California

"Despite the impact of Dutch Reformed theology in the English-speaking world, few contemporary sources are translated. With this new dogmatics, we may be considerably caught up. Yet this volume is not in the least provincial. Deeply informed by biblical studies as well as the history of doctrine, the authors engage a wide range of conversation partners. As insiders, legatees, and contributors to Continental theological developments, they offer a crucial perspective for ecumenical conversation."

Shalom Milkman!

I do not think you can compare Bavinck's multi-volume Reformed Dogmatics with the two above mentioned one-volume works. Bavinck has written a classic work of Reformed Theology that is profound and comprehensive. Even though it was written more than a century ago his work still remains relevant.

Perhaps you could compare both works to Michael Horton's systematic theology (although I must confess that I have not read Horton yet). Both Van Genderen & Velema (1992) and Van den Brink & Van der Kooi (2012) are of much more recent date than Bavinck and discuss recent developments in continental reformed theology.

Great idea! Would love to have this edition in Logos. I wouldn't mind having the Dutch version in Logos either! Definitely a must if Faithlife would want to expand into the Netherlands.
