Bug v7.8: Notification retained when Restart is not required

Set Verbum to Yes  in Logos invokes the Restart notification.

But an immediate Set Verbum to No does not revoke it.

After a restart Set Verbum to No also invokes the Restart notification.

How does one know if the app is in Verbum mode?

A Few. Those Set Verbum commands are dumb. They always require a restart. Eg. If you Set Verbum to Yes. Restart, and then Set it to Yes again it will require a restart. Every time you issue a command, regardless of the mode, it requires a restart.

Also, the notification to Restart isn't a link that you can click to restart. I think this was changed everywhere else?

Have Faithlife considered using Toast style notifications to supplement the current notifications? There are a number of places it would be very helpful to draw notification to the user that something has changed where it might otherwise not be immediately noticed.

EDIT: An example that I saw mentioned on the forums a week or so ago that I hadn't been aware of or had forgotten (I can't remember which) is changing the Match All Word Forms setting changes ALL searches to use that new setting. A toast notification would be helpful there noting that a global setting had changed.

Using a link to restart the application is not supported on Mac, and is only supported on Windows in one specific situation (a specific case of updating the application). There are no current plans to add a restart link to this (and other) notifications.

I'll create a case for removing the notification when changing a setting back to the original value the application started up with.
