Yeah, for the right application, those, like the i9's, will probably be super. I doubt that application is Logos. Likely the difference between eight threads and 12 or 16 in Logos will be mostly unnoticeable. And for those extra threads you could buy a lot of other stuff.

Agreed. Disc I/O is the bottleneck for Logos. I have a 2.66 GHz processor, 12 GB of RAM, and an SSD. The SSD makes the biggest difference.
get the hardware SSDs (PCIe) not the SATA SSDs. The PCIe SSDs that look like a memory stick are much faster than the normal SSD drives you plug in with SATA cables.
That's The Next Step in SSDs and data speeds, no question.

Otherwise, I'm finding my bottleneck is with video at the moment. (though granted I am running five monitors).
My poor little ATI Radeon HD4670 is out of date and straining with the tasks I give it. Being on a laptop I can't do anything about that - so to the build I go.

Big difference in seed. My wife and both own laptops with the PCIE SSDs. Expensive to upgrade for storage, but the speed boost is night and day, and it was already night and day when comparing Sata SSD vs Sata HDD.

I think that's right and using a PCle drive also makes a big difference in indexing. I'm finding with 8 threads AND a PCle drive that indexing isn't an issue.
Video cards are largely designed around the demands of gamers. I'm not sure what parts of the video card design most affect a program like Logos. My very recent Dell desktop has a bunch of HDMI outputs (5 IIRC). I, unfortunately, have but one monitor so these riches are wasted on me but would be just what you'd like. I am out of the office and don't know that video card is in that computer.

I actually have the 500GB version in my laptop and the 1TB version in my desktop. Its just night and day. I thought going from normal 7200RPM SATA HDD to a SATA SSD was a big jump, this is another big jump and it plugs directly into your MB. (you need a newer/higher end MB with this type of connection) or you have to buy a separate daughter-board card.

Did you manually start the re-index process? Why would this be useful?
If you're asking me, I reloaded windows, and that required reinstalling logos, which caused a re-index.
