Just updated the LAHL, but it may not be the cause of this bug:

  1. Open ESV, Info, LAHL and BWS and link them with A.
  2. Go to Ps 118.25 and click on "save"
  3. Everything links and then the BWS switches to Greek!

Please confirm and advise. I have restarted Logos to see if that helped, but to no avail.

I have seen this issue before and never did get a resolution on it. Had a bit more complicated layout at the time so hopefully with your simpler layout something can be discovered why this happens. Have to see if I can reproduce tonight when I am home...

My old thread that described the issue:

Apologies since unable to replicate using Logos 7.8 SR-1 on OS X (found a resource prioritization to change for information).

John Fidel:

Just updated the LAHL, but it may not be the cause of this bug:

I can reproduce in Windows

  1. Link BWS, ESV RI and a Hebrew lexicon (e.g. CHAL, DBL Hebrew)
    1. BWS in one tile, ESV and the lexicon in another tile
  2. Go to Ps 118.25 in ESV and click "save" (or any word)
  3. The BWS links to the Hebrew but it switches to the Greek equivalent when I click the lexicon's tab.
    1. the lexicon links correctly.

It doesn't happen all the time (>90%), but sometimes the switch to Greek occurs without having to click the lexicon.

However, it also happens by simply scrolling in the (linked) Hebrew lexicon, but some words only link to the Hebrew in BWS.

If you now go scroll down the LAHL a bit to read it, does your BWS change to Greek?

John and Dave,

Try as I may on your test scripture or other I cannot reproduce this behavior. What Corresponding Word filters do you have checked? I'm on Windows 10 Surface Pro 3

Thanks for trying this. If you scroll down LAHL, does the BWS change to Greek. I only have emphasize references checked.

No it does not. It switches to Greek if I scroll down to Greek alignments and click a Greek headword. If I scroll up it immediately returns to Hebrew I don't have to click a Hebrew headword. I believe this is expected behavior.

does not have Greek headword in the Greek alignment section (so scrolling does not change Hebrew headword that is linked to BWS). Clicking σῴζω caused BWS and Information in Logos 7.8 SR-1 to change:

FYI: have Information set to update on click

KS4J,

Looks like your BWS has the Greek and not the Hebrew Lemma just like mine does. That is my problem and looks like yours as well.

Screen shot with BWS having Greek was after clicking σῴζω in the Lexham Analytical Lexicon of the Hebrew Bible.

Apologies since scrolling Lexicon entry had no effect on BWS (even when σῴζω appeared in Greek alignments).

Dustin, did you ever get your problem resolved? I read the link you provided, but wanted clarity as to the process you used if you were able to fix the matter.

Thanks

Reindexed, restarted Logos still switching to Greek. FL staff, any comments?

No, my system still acts like my old post and your current post describe. There has to be a setting (don't know what it would be) or a resource prioritization issue it seems that is causing the issue. Extremely annoying whatever is causing it.

Dave, can you use your star power and see if you can get a FL tech to look at this issue for us?

Thanks
