Print/Export Problems for Searches - Mac OSX

Until recently I have been able to print and export the results of a search directly from the Print/Export window.  It seems something has changed and I can no longer use the feature for Searches.  In the past, I would perform a search, for example, the use of the words "save, saved, saving, salvation" in the New Testament of the NASB95.  The search would then pull up its results with each verse reference and its context.  I then would click on the drop down menu in the upper left hand corner of the window and click on "Print/Export" which then took me to the "Print/Export" window, showing the results of my search. But now when I click on the "Print/Export", the dialogue box opens, but it is blank. If I try to send to excel, it is blank. If I "Copy to Clipboard" and then paste in excel, it works. So the Print/Export page is blank and will not export details but will copy to clip board and allow to paste - yet the page is blank. Any help to remedy this. I have not used this feature in a few months but it worked fine the last few times I did use it. Thanks in advance for any help. I have shut down the program and opened it back up with no better results.

Ed, you need to supply some essential information. What version of OS X? What version of Logos? The supply some logs so we can diagnose the behaviour.

Thanks Dave for responding! I have the latest OSX of 10.12.6. I am using Logos 7. Thanks also for the link on providing "logs". I followed the instructions and have attached a "log" after attempting to run the Print/Export issue mentioned in my first post on the issue. I hope this information is helpful in having the challenge diagnosed and corrected. Let me know if you need more information from me. Thanks again for your grace in assisting me.

We will need a full fledged techie to review your logs. For clarification: please make sure to include the specific version of the app you are using. It could be the key to figuring out the problem! In your case, you are running 7.9 (7.9.0.0013). Typically the 7.8 SR-1 or 7.9 is sufficient.

Your logs show a number of Collection with excessively long author/publisher rules that require up to 30 lines of 80 column text!

One rule:

Author:("Bamberger, Bernard J.", "Berkson, William", "Berlin, Adele", "Borowitz, Eugene B." ... 

...

OR Publisher:("Hananeel House", "Jewish Publication Society", "Messianic Jewish Publishers", "The Talmud Society")

duplicates the Author/Publisher sequence.

Several take about 1s each to evaluate, whilst in total they take 25s to 37s. Do you need all of these? Can they be simplified?

Hi Dave, Thanks for looking over the logs and your concern. I have no idea why there are excessively long author/publishers. I do not believe I would have had anything to do that aspect of the program...if I did, I am unaware what I did :-)  Do I need all of these? I have no idea but doubt it! Can they be simplified? I don't know how they got that way. Your questions are obviously beyond what I know regarding the details of the program. I'm so grateful for your care. I did chat with a Logos rep and they are directing me to the tech department - we will see just how deep the rabbit hole goes on this one :-)

I am certainly open for more questions/suggestions now that you have a better understanding of my limited knowledge :-)

They could have been imported.

Look at Collections in the Tools menu, Open a collection and see (under Start with Resources matching) if  it has a rule like:

 Author:("Bamberger, Bernard J.", "Berkson, William", "Berlin, Adele", "Borowitz, Eugene B." ...

 It would take a lot of scrolling to find the Publisher:("Hananeel House", "Jewish Publication Society" part, so don't try.

If you don't use them, right click the name in the Open menu and select Delete.

With Match all word forms checked, search can be simplified:

save, salvation

What is selected on the left hand side of "Print/Export" ?

Using Logos 7.9.0.0013 on OS X 10.10.5 replicated Print/Export "as shown on screen" having blank preview

So thanks for the basic tip and Search all Word forms - Awesome.

Because of your question to me, when I get a blank page, I tried clicking "Print as exported". When I do, the search becomes visible and I am able to "Send file as spreadsheet". I cannot "Send to New Document" or "Paste in Open Document". When I began this thread, I did have "Print as shown on screen". Thanks so much for your investment into this challenge!

Thanks Dave!!! Very helpful. I believe I likely imported them from a Logos connected website when I first install Logos 7. Thanks for helping this rookie!
