I think I remember seeing something on the logos blog or forums about hidden features, hidden functions, hidden something (not resources). Can someone point me in the right direction, or do I need to see a psychologist?

Thanks.

Logos buries things a lot in the right click menu. I suggest reading the wiki to find out tidbits that you didn't know before.

The most recent discussion that I can remember with "hidden" features (I like to call them "less well known" features) had something to do with Topical searching and searching by headers. Does that ring a bell?

Hi Dave Smile

I don't recall the specific thread this was in, but if it is what the OP was thinking of I'll let you or another experienced user take it because I tend to learn more than teach here  Yes

It just sounded familiar.

Thanks all.

I'm guessing that OP refers to me? Would that be "Original Poster"? I'm not up to speed with forum shorthand.

I'll check out the wiki and see what I find. I don't recall it being about Topical searching, but I could be mistaken. Maybe it had to do with tricks; hidden tricks perhaps? I think it was referring to those functions which aren't covered in 'Help' or something along those lines. Not sure.

Yes, sorry Stefan but while I was typing my response I could not remember your name! Embarrassed

OP or O/P usually means "original post" or "original poster" depending on the context. My apologies again!

If you find a command or book that you use on a regular basis just drag it from your command box to your toolbar (which will be located directly to the right of the command box) and a button will automatically be added to the toolbar.

Huh. I knew about the books, but I didn't know about the commands. That's handy.

Thanks, Richard.

A favorite command that I made into a button is "Close All". It closes all open materials such as books, notes etc in one click rather than many.

Richard,

I just tried to make a "close all" button and it didn't work. I typed "close all" in the command box, selected it, then drug it over... nothing. Do you have to execute the command first, before you drag it, because I really don't want to close all my resources right now.

That may be the situation. I can not answer with 100% accuracy on that part. Smile

No, you don't have to execute it first. But make sure you're dragging the command from the menu which drops down when you type "close all" in the command box, not the text from the command box itself.

Thanks Rosie! Yes

I had just finished double checking and confirmed what you have posted. Stefan, you will surely learn a lot about the program by hanging out here. There are several experts that may not consider themselves worthy of the title but trust me, they are.  Yes
