I think I remember seeing something on the logos blog or forums about hidden features, hidden functions, hidden something (not resources). Can someone point me in the right direction, or do I need to see a psychologist?
Thanks.
Logos buries things a lot in the right click menu. I suggest reading the wiki to find out tidbits that you didn't know before.

The most recent discussion that I can remember with "hidden" features (I like to call them "less well known" features) had something to do with Topical searching and searching by headers. Does that ring a bell?
Rick
Does that ring a bell?
Yes!
Hi Dave [:)]
I don't recall the specific thread this was in, but if it is what the OP was thinking of I'll let you or another experienced user take it because I tend to learn more than teach here [Y]
It just sounded familiar.
Thanks all.
I'm guessing that OP refers to me? Would that be "Original Poster"? I'm not up to speed with forum shorthand.
I'll check out the wiki and see what I find. I don't recall it being about Topical searching, but I could be mistaken. Maybe it had to do with tricks; hidden tricks perhaps? I think it was referring to those functions which aren't covered in 'Help' or something along those lines. Not sure.
Please keep the suggestions coming!

Yes, sorry Stefan but while I was typing my response I could not remember your name! [:$]
OP or O/P usually means "original post" or "original poster" depending on the context. My apologies again!
Type in Command box:-

Yes, sorry Stefan
My apologies again!
No worries at all non-OP #2. I understand. [:D]

[Y] Love it!
If you find a command or book that you use on a regular basis just drag it from your command box to your toolbar (which will be located directly to the right of the command box) and a button will automatically be added to the toolbar.
Huh. I knew about the books, but I didn't know about the commands. That's handy.
Thanks, Richard.
A favorite command that I made into a button is "Close All". It closes all open materials such as books, notes etc in one click rather than many.

or simply try ......... FSD ................ That works
Then save it to the bar....
Richard,
I just tried to make a "close all" button and it didn't work. I typed "close all" in the command box, selected it, then drug it over... nothing. Do you have to execute the command first, before you drag it, because I really don't want to close all my resources right now.
Do you have to execute the command first, before you drag it,
That may be the situation. I can not answer with 100% accuracy on that part. [:)]
No, you don't have to execute it first. But make sure you're dragging the command from the menu which drops down when you type "close all" in the command box, not the text from the command box itself.
Thanks Rosie! [Y]
I had just finished double checking and confirmed what you have posted. Stefan, you will surely learn a lot about the program by hanging out here. There are several experts that may not consider themselves worthy of the title but trust me, they are. [Y]
Ha, brilliant! That did the trick, Rosie.
Thanks to both.
Any other nifty tricks I should be acquainted with?

Indeed! I just don't understand how people can be on here so often. I'm trying to work on an exegesis for class right now and it's slow going, because every few minutes I'm reading and responding just to keep up with this post, let alone all the others. I can only imagine how much good info I'm missing out on!
Watch all the videos on http://www.logos.com/videos. You're sure to learn something new there. Then when you've absorbed all of those, hop on over to http://wiki.logos.com/Logos_4_Video_Tutorials for some truly outstanding tutorial videos created by users (Mark Barnes especially).

I am one of the blessed one's. I am doing a job that I knew I wanterd to do ever since i was 15 years old. My firefighter shifts are 48 hours on duty, 72 hours off duty. And at the station after normal duty hours we are allowed to use an ISP that the firefighters pay for separately from the employer and have to no restrictions using only our personal laptops. Makes it nice once the evening calls calm down a bit. When I am off, I am off for three days at home. Plenty of time to study, honey-do lists and play around here!
God bless, Working in the morning. Good night.

There is always my solution - be retired.[:)] Plus, several of my projects require that I be on the web anyway.
If I remove a resource in my iPad, does it remove it on my PC and notebook?
No. That merely removes the download. Hiding (removing from your library) only occurs from a PC/MAC.
No… but I do believe that syncing is now occurring for hidden resources (which has to be done on your computer). I will double check.
I can confirm that hidden resource preferences from within L4 or L5 do sync with the mobile app. If you hide a resource on the desktop app, it will sync that preference to all your installations and mobile apps. NOTE: It took my phone 5-10 minutes for the preference to be pushed through to my library. Also, I don't know what would happen with a downloaded resource if you "hide" it… it may or may not delete from the mobile app.
