Tried to switch to new layout, which has never been a problem before.

First time, crashed and burned. It wasn't pretty. Logs attached:

Second time, a few minutes later, to see if I could replicate before posting, app just hung. Spinning pizza. Had to force quit. Logs attached.

Are there new stability issues with A18, or is it just me?

Curiouser and curiouser.

I tried to replicate above yet again. This time it worked, changing layouts from one to another. One thing I did notice was that there was a noticeable (say 5 second) delay before the Layouts dropdown appeared. Once again, here are the fresh logs:

Could you post your layouts.db file? Layouts--Users/Userfolder/Library/Application Support/Logos4/Documents/Uniquefolder.xxx/LayoutManager/

I'm not sure but dev might want to look at that as well.

Also, is it always the same layout you are switching to, or do any and all layouts cause this? I might try this out to see if I can duplicate it, could you tell me the name of the layout that is the problem layout (if it is only one). And if it is only one layout what happens when you recreate it and see if the you get the same crash with the new one?

I cannot get the layouts.db to upload. It's over 4 Mb in size and after a few minutes I keep getting this error message:

And since the screenshot has uploaded, I can only think that it has something to do with file size.

Here is a screenshot of my layouts

None of them is complicated. Here is the most complicated. It's Morning Sermon

Sorry, can't get layouts.db to upload. As I said on my second post, the problem seems to have disappeared.

My tuppence worth is that I probably tried to change layouts too soon, i.e. before the app had settled down with the opening layout.

Maybe that's all it was. I guess the logs you have might show something.

Every blessing

Alan:

Did you try compressing the file? If you right-click it you should have the choice to "Compress x files" You are right though you ma be acting a bit hastily in your layout change. You have to remember it isn't a small task to open a layout, it is opening all those books all over again, to their instances form whence they were originally opened to. If you still can't post the layout, I will file a report with your log its own.

I tried compressing. It went from 4.4 Mb to 4.1 Mb. Sorry about that. Point taken about switching layouts too quickly.

Hope the logs will help on their own.

Every blessing

I have a similar issue. I can change layouts about once in every five attempts. Otherwise it crashes.
