How do I do a search where I can find a map that is just Jerusalem during the Roman Period (or Second Temple Period)? When I have done a search, maps come up that have Jerusalem as a "dot" on it, or it doesn't have Jerusalem at all! I got a few maps of just Jerusalem, but not as many as I know that I have in my library.

Thanks for any help!

Charlene

Running a Media Search for "(<Place Jerusalem>, jerusalem) AND (roman, "second temple", "2nd temple)" produces some helpful results in my library.

Graham,

did you do just "maps" in your Media search? When I did that, I see got only a few, with some other maps of the Roman empire, etc.

Perhaps check the syntax. Graham's search, corrected with the missing quote: <Place Jerusalem>, jerusalem) AND (roman, "second temple", "2nd temple"), returns 516 results for me, even restricted to maps.

That said, the results aren't particularly helpful. You might be better replacing roman with "first-century" although that still gives lots of false positives.

Try the phrase "New Testament Jerusalem" with the media and map search.

Thanks! I'm often impressed by the excellent maps in recent Study Bibles. Here's two nice ones from the CSB and ESV Study Bible.

Just earlier today I was "resorting" to my hardback books and was looking through my ESV Bible Atlas....and then I finally found my artwork for it. And then only about an hour later, I "discovered" that the maps I had found were actually in the ESV Study Bible! BUT they didn't show up in my search! Sad Only after I copied and paste, did I discover I had them in Logos the whole time, but just not listed as the ESV Bible Atlas, but in the Study Bible! What a shame that it didn't show up sooner! BUT, André, you are right, in that they do have good maps! Thanks!
