This 4 volume set edited by Jack Sasson would be an extremely valuable resource.  I figure this must have been suggested before, but just in case...

Yep. I suggested this before, a few times I think... Never got picked up by anyone else. CANE is a good set, used often in college courses.

Yes to CANE (so that I can get rid of the print edition (newer 2 vols ed) that is collecting dust because it is too heavy to carry around )

This is a Hendrickson publication and therefore should pose little difficulty with getting cooperation from the publisher.  Jack Sasson is a member of the ANE-2 list which is the successor of the defunct ANE list formerly hosted by the Oriental Institute at the University of Chicago.  While we have both ANET and COS which contain texts from the surrounding cultures of the ANE, it would be valuable to have some work which could bring out various aspects of the cultures and link to our ANE texts.

I totaly agree. I have made this suggestion to suggest@logos.com a couple of times. I hope this invaluable work will be published by Logos in the near future. Emails to suggest@logos.com may help speed up the process.

Peace to you, George!                           and!

                                                                                           Great Joy!

Thanks for this post ..........                  I thought I'd check my library and was quite surprised that I have 27 books as a Hendrickson publication ...    never really noticed that before ...........

Does seem like a great match .

Seems to me that before too long we may  be seeing Logos raising Pre-Pub support for CANE :)

I would love this resource along with the 5 volume The New Encyclopedia of Archaeological Excavations in the Holy Land by Ephraim Stern.  My print copies are invaluable and I would get great use out of them.
