The last time I used the mobile app on android (Galaxy S4) it was much choppier than the app on iOS (iPod touch).  Has this been fixed? More specifically is scrolling smooth and opening resources snappy?

I do not have any IOS devices with which to compare, but I would not characterize the Logos Android app as performant.  Perhaps there are technical challenges that the Logos app faces on Android, but other cross platform apps seem to not be as laggy.  Other Android users have experience?  I would be interested in knowing how the app fares on something like a Google Pixel 2, or Samsung S9, OnePlus 6, or other higher end Android phone.

Yes this is probably a question that can be answered sufficiently only if someone can put them side by side.

Is this a "I'm thinking of buying a new device and switching from iOS" question?

Basically, but I didn't ask it that way because I have found that most people don't know of the rather substantial differences in performances of the app on iOS vs. android (at least in the past).

OK. We have a few users on both platforms. Hopefully one or more will be able to chime in.

The latest big update to the app (Tabs..etc) really improved the Andriod app quite a bit. I use it on a OnePlus 3t (Equivalent to like a Galaxy 8ish) and it works nicely. I also have a iPhone 7 and Andriod still lacks some of the features that ios has (like quick look up word definitions and offline word studies with a single press and the notes aren't as good). But, I am hoping that these will be fixed and brought up to speed with L8. Because overall, I like Andriod phones and think you get more value from a phone when you purchase them.

Thanks for the update!  I use Logos on a OnePlus One.  It's certainly not a new phone.  Performance is not too bad.  I'm sure it's much better on a newer one.  If any developers read this and can comment as to if or when offline definitions/word studies are coming to Android (particularly for Greek and Hebrew texts) that would be wonderful.  I know this was not added to IOS until relatively recently, so hopefully Android won't be too far off in the future.

Thanks all, it looks like it's still worth staying with iOS for now.
