In adding the Wuest New Testament to a Text Comparison in response to Wuest in Text Comparison not working correctly I found the alignment is inconsistent. I would expect that each Wuest text block would be aligned to the first verse identified in the text. It is sometimes (blue line) and isn't sometimes (red line). I believe this inconsistency to be a bug.

For example of missing text see Wuest in Text Comparison not working correctly

Orthodox Bishop Hilarion Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."

We have a case tracking problems with WUESTNT in Text Comparison. Thanks for the detailed examples; I've added a link to this post to the case.

I have a mp4 showing Wuest failure, but get an error trying to upload it.

It shows 1 Corinthians 12:1-7, then 8-11 missing, then 12-17. This is the starting screen. The video is short, about 1/2 minute

We're aware of the problem, so uploading the MP4 isn't necessary.

This problem is made worse by the fact I often find the verse I am looking at is not there at all. It falls in a gap not displayed.

All HELP much appreciated!

Question: if you have only WUESTNT and one other version [not using text comparison] side by side can you find all of the verses in the 'gap'?

[[That is does WUESTNT have every verse or does it combine or seem to skip some verses??]]

There is no problem with the tile containing multiple versions when I pick Wuest. This is a "text comparison" problem only.

Thanks for the reply.  I took a quick look at Wuest and saw how it had groups of verses 'combined' so I asked.  [Have seen others that do similar and there is no way to find relationships to all the verses in some.]

Will this be fixed at some point? I value the Wuest resource and the text compare tool uses it to its maximum potential.

I see a number of things that could cause problems.
I found verse-groups with up to 12 verses.
Most have number-number, but some have number, number. Also, there are single verses
"James 2:1-4" has a comment symbol in front of it.
I also found 5-6a followed by 6b, 7 just after "James 2:1-4".

MJ. Smith wrote: "I would expect that each Wuest text block would be aligned to the first verse identified in the text."

Wuest is in pre-set Verse groups. If a verse in the middle is requested "Text Comparison" will need to be able to handle that.

3–8 For consider by way of comparison the One who has endured opposition by sinners against himself, in order that you do not become weary, fainting in your souls. Not yet have you withstood to the extent of blood, struggling against sin. And you have completely forgotten the exhortation which is of such a nature as to speak to you as to sons, Son of mine, stop making light of the Lord’s discipline, correction, and guidance. Stop fainting when you are being effectually rebuked by Him. For the one whom the Lord loves, He disciplines, corrects, and guides, and He scourges every son whom He receives and cherishes. It is for the purpose of discipline, correction, and guidance that you are enduring. As those who by nature are sons is God dealing with you. For what son is there whom the Father does not discipline, correct, and guide? But if you are without discipline, correction, and guidance, of which all [sons] have been made partakers, it follows therefore that you are bastards and not sons.

9–11 Furthermore, we have been having indeed fathers of our flesh as those who disciplined, corrected, and guided us, and we have been in the habit of giving them reverence. Shall we not much rather put ourselves in subjection to the Father of spirits and live? For on the one hand, they disciplined, corrected, and guided us for a few days upon the basis of that which seemed good to them, but He disciplines, corrects, and guides us for our profit, to the end that we might partake of His holiness. In fact, all discipline, correction, and guidance for the time being does not seem to be joyous but grievous; yet afterward it yields a return of the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been exercised by it.

12–17 Wherefore, the hands which are relaxed and the knees which have become paralyzed, reinvigorate. And be making smooth paths for your feet, in order that that which is limping may not be wrenched out of joint, but rather that it be healed. Be eagerly seeking after peace with all, and holiness, without which [holiness] no one shall see the Lord, exercising oversight [over yourselves] lest anyone be falling away from the grace of God, lest any root of bitterness springing up be troubling you, and through this the many be defiled, lest there be a fornicator, or an irreligious person such as Esau, who in exchange for one bit of food gave up his birthright. For you know that also after that, when desiring to inherit the blessing, he was disqualified, for he did not find a place of repentance [room to repent], even though he sought it [place of repentance] with tears.

18–21 For you have not come to the mountain [Sinai] which might be touched, and that has been set on fire, and to blackness and darkness and tempest, and to a sound of a trumpet, and to a sound of uttered words, concerning which sound those who heard made supplication that there should not be spoken an additional word to them, for they could not bear that which was commanded. And if a wild beast touches the mountain, it shall be stoned. And so terrible was its appearance that Moses said, I am terrified and trembling.

Previous shows sequence: 3-8, 9-11, 12-17,18-21

1 Cor 13: shows 1-3, 4-8, 8-13, 1-5, 6-11

The 8 is repeated. Not sure if this causes problems.

1 Cor 13.8  [Charity never faileth:]    using KJV

[but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.]

Verse 8 is split between the two 'groups'

4–8   (…) Love never fails.  Wuest V8 only   Everything after 'fails' is in the next group

8–13  But whether there are utterances given by a person consisting of divine revelations he has received, they shall cease; (…)  Wuest

This from Faithlife:

Thank you for the email. I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but we have elected to not spend resources on fixing this bug. There are not enough people reporting it to justify investing the required resources to investigate and fix it. I’m very sorry.

It will remain broken.
