Ok, Let me see if I can do this correctly.

I am running Logos 8.0 SR-2  (8.0.0.0591)

The computer is a Mac Pro Mid 2010
The O.S. is El Capitan 10.11.6

2 x 2.66 GHz processors (12 cores)
32 Gig Ram
12 TB total Drive space with the boot / Logos drive being 3TB. 1.37 TB free space on that drive.

2 ATI Radeon HD 5770 Vid cards.

In the Highlights tool.
When I try to change the target notebook, Logos will simply close with no warning, then the Mac Crash report screen will display.

Attached is a screen shot just before the program crashes and I 'think' I have properly attached the logos crash logs.

Please let me know if I need to provide any other information.

Logos 8.1 Beta 3; Mac OS 10.14.1

Followed the steps outlined in your post. The crash did not occur in my installation. Could have been fixed in the 8.1 beta cycle, or you have discovered an incompatibility with 10.11.

Can you upgrade your OS? Don't know about your Mac, but I do know that some apps did not play nice with 10.13 (I believe that was the release that broke QuickBooks)

Roy explains at https://community.logos.com/forums/p/175711/1015786.aspx#1015786 that he can’t upgrade due to video card issues

Hi Jack,

Well... If I wait for who knows how long to pay off my Logos8 splurge then maybe I can get new video cards. I can upgrade to either Sierra or High Sierra as I do have both installers saved here (just have not done so yet). I will most likely upgrade to High Sierra after I do a complete backup (clone) of my boot drive.

Having read the thread that Graham mentioned, the symptoms that that original poster had sounded so similar (too similar actually) that I felt it was most likely the same underlaying issue causing my problems.

Thank you both for taking your time to try and help me with this.

Blessings to you both.

Roy

I was having the same issue with macOS Mohave Version 10.x this morning.  I just updated to macOSMohave Version 10.14.1 and Logos 8 is no longer crashing in the Highlights Tool.

I've created a case for our developers to look into this bug.

(I suspect it is related to macOS 10.11.6, since no one else has reported this crash and very few of our users are still running that version. But we will investigate and find out. There probably won't be any updates until after Thanksgiving weekend at the earliest.)

There are a number of known crashes in Mojave 10.14.0 that are fixed by updating to 10.14.1.

Those are unrelated to the OP's issue.

Update...

I finally had a chance to back up my system (man, it took CarbonCopy almost 24 hours to create the bootable backup. i definitely have too much "stuff" on th is hard drive Geeked )

I have now upgraded my OS to macOS 10.13.6 and the problem seems to have disappeared. So it may very well be an issue related to macOS 10.11.6.

Thank you for having the developers look into this.

I still can not upgrade to Mojave du to my graphics cards. I tried to do so in a VM of High Sierra but it would not let me. Hopefully the next iteration of LOGOS will not break the system. More hopefully I can actually get new cards by then Big Smile.
