Many of you know that I'm one of the token members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (i.e. "Mormons" although we prefer different shorthand) on these boards, and have been since about 2001. I've created a Facebook group for LDS Logos users, which I moderate. You do actually have to be LDS to join. Link

And one day, as there have been a ton of relevant publications, I'll update my 2014 post here on an academically responsible Mormonism Collection

I've had travel to two states, a wedding, and an illness to get in the way, but I am very much enjoying it and watching training videos :) Many thanks to whomever is responsible for my joy.

Yes may healing come to you as soon as possible. Blessings on your FB group and may you all find great benefit studying the Bible through Logos/Verbum. Some of us have less than an ideal level of knowledge of the LDS movements and while I will not try to gloss over the many differences, we have we do share a love of Jesus. I was pleasantly surprised the other day to come across this review from a LDS website on  The New Oxford Annotated Bible [Fully Revised Fifth Edition] (always being under the belief KJV was the only translation generally read by LDS, I was pleased to know that was not the case).

How can we message people on FL?  I go to the Faith Life page, on the left side bar, I click Messages, and then it populates a messenger type box.  How can I message another FL user?  I would like to message Ben here.

If you click on Ben's name it should take you to Faithlife. On the right, you'll see "Send a Message"

Thanks Dan. I'm still coughing, but working.

I'm perhaps skirting the forum line with this history here, but the KJV has been the official English translation since roughly the 1950s. However, the reasons for that are not really similar to Protestant KJV-Onlyists (as some might assume.)

While some leaders have argued against non-KJV Bible translations, others have openly quoted them in worldwide conferences or official magazines, and advocated for their use in personal study.

One very recent happening is the publication by Church-owned Deseret Book of, in essence, a New Testament study Bible aimed at LDS. This fact seems to indicate a growing nod among Church leaders to the utility of non-KJV translations. It was just published a month ago, but is already into a second printing, indicating demand among that sector of English-speaking LDS who want something better than the KJV, but are uncomfortable moving directly to something like the NRSV/Harper-Collins or Jewish Study Bible. (I'm quite obviously in the latter-category, but I applaud this as a stepping stone to greater engagement.)

It is, however, a single-author project and, like all such, will be idiosyncratic regardless of qualifications. It was written by a BYU Religion/Classics professor, with particular attention to intertextuality with LDS scripture in the notes. It's something I would hope to see in a good LDS Logos collection.

For LDS interpretation/usage/translations of the Bible, this volume by Oxford Press.

Thank you very much for the book recommendation not sure I will ever get it but I have put a sample of the kindle edition on my iPad. Not 100% sure NRSV is considered too daring anymore but you would know more about what is what than I do.  I was surprised to hear speaking positive of the NRSV in that review. But I also realize that he is just one man and not speaking for the LDS officially. I think we are sort safe guideline wise as long as we don’t start arguing or making pronoucements.

This option only appears if you are at least in one group with an individual. I can't message Ben either, if I wished to do so. Faithlife even doesn't tell in which groups an individual is (which both prevents stalking and such annoyances and thus probably should stay as it is) - unless one of you offers some information about groups you are in - either by turning the respective setting to "everyone" or just writing it down here in the forum - , and the other one joins, you will not be able to use the messaging feature of FL.
