I don't think I understand searching notes either

So because filtering isn't working I thought I would use search. In the search box at the top of notes I enter

1 John 3:1

Not only does it find the note I am looking for, it also finds another note that does not have 1 John 3:1 anywhere in it. It does have 1 John 2:14 and 2 Timothy 3:16-17 and 2 Peter 3:16 I tried searching for

"1 John 3:1"

because that is how you tell Google to match exactly, but that had no effect. In fact, this note also has a reference to Luke 11:28 and 1 Peter 1:23 so just to test my hypothesis I can find this note for any of the following searches.

2 Peter 11:28

2 Luke 3:16-17

1 Timothy 11:28

what do you get if you search for <1 John 3:1> or <= 1John 3:1>?

Those both show 0 results. So on the plus side I don't see the note that doesn't contain 1 John 3:1 but it cannot find the note that does contain 1 John 3:1 both as an anchor and as text in the note.

That smashed my suspicion as to what was going on. I am not able to get consistent results when I try to test it ...
