Warren  Wiersbe (May 16, 1929 – May 2, 2019) A prolific Christian writer and servant of the Lord went to his eternal home yesterday. Dr. Wiersbe wrote over 150 books and just this January released the Wiersbe Study Bible. For many years he pastored Moody Church, Chicago, as well as spoke on Back to the Bible. His "BE Series" of commentaries helped many a layman understand the scriptures. Well done, good and faithful servant. Jerry Smith,  Faith Baptist Church, Andover, KS

Early in my pastoral ministry I read his book on conducting funerals. It spared me from many novice mistakes!

Great loss! I‘ve used his outlines extensively when I first started ministry and I still look them up from time to time.  My favorite all time short book by him is “The Elements of Preaching.” Great simple and down to earth advice for ministers 👍😁👌

In 1985 I was a very young immature Christian.  One day while driving from home back to college I was flipping through radio channels and heard someone explaining the Bible in a way I had never really heard before up to that point.  It was Warren Wiersbe on "Back to the Bible"

I ended up using cassette tapes and a timer to record his broadcasts daily (before that was easy to do)  In many ways, he was my spiritual father in understanding and applying the Bible to my life.

While I never met him personally, I once had an occasion to send him a  brief letter that he very graciously replied to.

I pray that his family is strengthened by those he has touched.

Dr. Wiersbe called me not that long ago. He wanted to send me a miniature copy of the original Treasury of Scripture Knowledge, which he did. He also said he would mention my New Treasury of Scripture Knowledge as well as my considerable expansion of it (now over 900,000 cross references) in his new book about how to study the Bible. I thank the Lord for his great ministry.

I was blessed to hear him at a conference in 2003 Jacksonville Florida (at the time the shuttle Columbia exploded).  His exposition and delivery was definitely top notch and was noticeably better than his peers.  He was and will continue to be a blessing to God's church.
