Any thoughts about choosing a fourth course? Which one of them is worth spending 40 bucks?

My first choice would have been Paul of Tarsus to learn more about him, but I ended up choosing Biblical Interpretation because it's a weak point for me, and would probably be more beneficial in general.

I bought Vanhoozers TH 325 course - it was a hard choice against BI 271 - and I own BI131 already. All three of those are in my opinion easily worth 40 bucks.

That was the one I was considering... however, I noticed Vanhoozer is not on the side of classical inerrancy. https://www.logos.com/product/54034/five-views-on-biblical-inerrancy

I think I'll wait for new library expansions first, and then decide afterwards whether my budget still allows for another purchase...

Similar to Rodney, I didn't scroll far enough to notice the fourth choice for $40. Glad I saw this post and chose TH 325.

I did!  I'm only 15-20 percent into it, but in terms of the subject matter and presentation, I really like it so far.

What I don't like (and this is a complaint about ME courses in general) are the segments that demonsterate taking a topic or subject from the course, then using Logos to do something with it.  For two reasons, I've always seen this as removing value from every ME course that has these segments.

In general, I don't like a penny of what I spent for the course to go toward Logos training.  I want every second of the course to be learning about the course topic, not about using Logos.

Related to reason one and further reducing the value of these segments in a course, is that because the Logos training segments are tied to a specific version of Logos, they start becoming outdated as soon as they're released.  As the software changes, the steps/processes shown in the segments are often different from those that need to be followed in newer versions of the software.  At best, these segments are then of little to no value, and at worst, they can waste your time as you try unsuccessfully to follow the steps in the training segments until you figure out the steps don't work because of software changes.  The core material for the course itself is very unlikely to become obsolete.  The training segments are guaranteed to become obsolete.

I got this course and submitted a reply recommending it.  However, in the post, I also voiced a general complaint about what I consider to be Logos training segments in many courses including this one.  When submitting the post, I received a notice that my reply was considered spam and would be evaluated by someone at Faithlife.  I assume it was because of my negative comments about Logos training segments in many courses.

But to confirm, I like and recommend what I've seen of the course so far.

The spam filter is entirely automated. Staff (Bradley perhaps?) can rescue posts from the spam filter, but if you have an email like that, it means an over-aggressive algorithm has marked your post as spam without any human intervention. Sometimes adding lots of links can tip a post over the edge, but occasionally it's just not clear what prompted the algorithm to respond in the way that it did.

Thanks for the clarification, Mark!  I guess then that this must be one of those times when it's just not clear what prompted the algorithm to flag it that way.  The first post did eventually come through a day or two later--I guess that must have required manual intervention.  At that point I would have deleted one of the two posts if I could have, but the system wouldn't allow me to delete either.

But that's OK--no harm done.  Smile

Sorry! It was my fault. I posted a message asking about the sale, and then I realized that I just had to scroll down to find it. So I decided to delete the message. Somehow I did something wrong and I deleted the whole thread instead.
