I became interested in adding NIDOTTE/NIDNTTE to my library as a result of the current 30% off sale, so have been scouring the forum for thoughts & opinions on the set.

For the most part, comments have been positive so I think I'll pick it up, but... in the process of scoping it out, I also ran across posts that leave me thinking the set is occasionally offered at an even better discount.  If so, I'd like to wait for the next sale offering.

Am I on track with that thinking or is 30% about as good as it gets.

I bought NIDNTTE for $79.99 on a sale and the NIDOTTE for $60 something If I’m not mistaken.  It’s been cheaper before, that’s for sure.

That's a hard question to answer, given that historical performance is no guarantee of what may happen in the future. What I can tell you is that both the 5 volume sets have been sold at times at significantly higher discounts in the past - I know this because I have purchased both of them, one set in 2016 and the other in 2018.

I'm leaning toward putting it on my wish-list and waiting for a better sale.

Pre-pub pricing often gives you a good idea as to what sale pricing might look like in the future. It's rare that a sale dips below pre-pub. (It does sometimes happen, but it's a good marker.) The NIDNTTE was on pre-pub for $159.95, which is less than a 30% discount.

Thank you, Mark.  I have the BDAG/HAOLT bundle in my cart because I hadn't run across any past threads discussing these resources at a better price.  But since this sale limits us to one order, I held off submitting the order while attempting to get feedback on past sales pricing of NIDOTTE and NIDNTTE.  I had run across a few threads that had comments about a past sale with substantial discounts on these resources, but the threads didn't state the sale prices.  That's the reason I started this thread.  After seeing the feedback from Dal and David (especially Dal's post with pricing specifics), I felt my thoughts about waiting for a better price were being confirmed.  Now I'm wondering again.

It's not that I can't afford the resources at the current sale price--I just feel it's important to be prudent with financial resources.  It seems I'm often made aware of people who genuinely, through no fault of their own, are facing financial hardships and I feel it's important to help where and when I can.  Paying more than necessary for a resource today, leaves me that much less for helping others when the need arises.  Over time, the over-spending of $30, $20, or even $5 here and there on various purchases can add up to substantial waste.

I guess I'll do a little more searching to see if I can find what the past sales events were that are mentioned in the posts above to see if I can determine the likelihood of a repeat.  Sure wish there was any easy way to track past sales events and prices.

For some reason, Logos seems to have a policy of not broadcasting their Zondervan sales, which makes it difficult to search for past sales.

Fortunately, Zondervan themselves do not have the same secrecy policy, and looking back through my emails from Zondervan, I see that the 10 volume set was on sale in Logos at a 50% discount in March 2019.

I would expect it to be some time before that level of discount is repeated, but obviously that's just an opinion - as I don't work for Logos or Zondervan I wouldn't know Big Smile

Beloved, I'm not sure how it happened, but it seems a part of the HALOT entry was repeated over and over and over and over... etc..  In any event, this may be my last post in this thread as it takes a looooooooooooooong time to load and I keep getting a message asking if I want to terminate the process of a long running script. Tongue Tied
