I'm new to the forum and unsure if this has been brought to Logos 8 developers attention .

There maybe many as me that don't want the 100 + free library resources required to complete install.
Most of the time during the month I only have access to 600 kilobytes of data.
So a 2.4 GB download for the free , appears to make it impossible for me to install ; the app has downloaded only 1 % of the total 2.4 GB's of resources I don't want nor will use.

Is it possible in the near future Logos will allow me to choose what I want installed or not ? I only need a bible and dictionary.  And I just want to try the core functionality of Logos 8.

Appears this will be impossible for me until I have higher data speeds.

Most other bible programs I've tried dont have this dependency on the internet. Would be good to remove this dependency for users who simply want to use the software with a bible and a dictionary of our choice.

Welcome, J!

Quite true. Accordance lets me pick and choose. Bibleworks was an install CD ... monster size but cheap.  In L8, they tried to start a selective download, after a core download (others will be more accurate).

At one time, you could request a DVD from FL, where internet wasn't feasible. Not sure that service still exists.

Have you checked out this wiki page?: Quick Installation onto multiple computers

During the development of Cloud Resources, I requested a zero resource download option (for those who have resource files to scan), but we didn't get that. Instead, you can choose the minimal option, then as soon as Logos loads (a few resources will likely be downloaded), open the library and cancel all downloads. I'd also kill your wifi since datasets will continue to download. At that point you can use the scan command to "import" your existing resource files (including datasets). Now set the auto-download options in settings to NO and restart. You should be good to go and with only a few MB used!
