Home page still disappears
I still find it strange that since Logos 8 has made its grand entrance, the Home page still hasn't been fixed and apparently is not going to be. I've been told it's on the back burner. I'm kind of like wondering, how far back on the stove is that back burner?

What problem with the home page are you referring to?

Probably the problem described here: https://community.logos.com/forums/p/176750/1056282.aspx
I also still see that problem consistently.

Here are some logs, in case that helps.7345.Logos.zip

Graham, are you experiencing this problem on your system? Why I'm bringing this up again, is as posted initially, is that I find it a bit odd that something like this is permitted to go on for as long as it has without being fixed.

Perhaps if someone who is experiencing this could do a screen cast to demonstrate the issue, that might draw more attention to it and produce a desired fix. Just a suggestion. I would post that screen cast on the original forum.

I wasn't aware of it but having gone back to look at the previous report of the problem I think I might see what is happening.
And, yes, if I minimise Logos with the homepage displayed, bring a browser into view and then restore Logos the homepage is no longer displayed.
But it hasn't been replaced with a blank screen - it is rather that it has switched to show the current "workspace" (i.e. the resources etc that you had open). If you had nothing open you would get a blank screen.
And I don't think it is actually anything to do with browsers etc - it is simply an interaction with the Logos icon
To demonstrate, with Logos open with the homepage in view, hover over the Logos icon to bring up the window indication
Right-clicking that window - to expose the various options - will cause Logos to switch display from the homepage to the workspace
Similarly, if you have Logos open with the homepage displayed and then minimise the app and click the icon button to restore it, it will return initially with the homepage displayed but then switch immediately to the workspace in less than one second
Is this consistent with what you are seeing?

Just for info Graham, I have followed your steps as far as possible and cannot reproduce this on my MacBook.

Thanks Mike - could easily be a Windows-specific issue.

This problem has been reproduced at home office (Logos headquarters). I don't have to have Logos minimized only to get this problem.
From a fresh start, the Home page will stay up even switching back and forth between Logos and say, Word etc.
But if I open up anything on Logos, for instance, a Dictionary etc then close it, then the Home Page will disappear. Plus, here it is replaced with a blank page.
Minimizing Logos with the Home Page displayed and right clicking on the icon to bring it back up does not restore the Home page, rather it disappears to a blank page. Also, hovering over the icon gives me no options other than to close it or get rid of the icon.
That this has been an ongoing problem since day one of Logos 8, in my judgment, it seems odd that this is put on the back burner and just left alone for nearly a year.
On another note, I notice I don't get notifications when anyone posts a reply. I've checked off 'Email me replies to this post' but still no notifications. Has anyone else noticed this?

You are right that it switches to the current workspace, which might be empty if you have closed everything from before. It not only happens when minimizing and restoring from the icon, but also when using Alt-Tab to switch to and from other programs, so I don't believe the problem is with the icon. Somehow making Logos the active program, causes it to leave the home screen if resource/layouts have been used since starting the program.

Did Logos staff acknowledge the bug somewhere on the forum? If you can still edit the subject line of this thread, maybe add "Bug:" to it.

Nothing was done on the forum. I called Logos at least two times and once (maybe even twice) they came aboard my computer to see it. After that, on the second call or be email, they acknowledged the same problem was reproduced on their systems.
Last time I talked to them about it, it seems they weren't concerned about it and informed me it was pushed into the background as far as fixing it. It also seems not enough people are complaining about it and thus the unconcern on the part of Logos.
I think someone on another like thread had mentioned this began after an update with Logos. If that were the case, then I would think that would have been fixed with the next update.
Another question; is there anyone out there that does not have this problem?

I haven't run into this problem, myself.

There probably aren't a lot of complaints about this issue because users are more likely to have a layout open if they alt-tab.
Ideally software wouldn't have bugs, but of all the issues that need to be fixed, it's understandable that the developers focus on ones that have a more critical impact.
If you remember the long-standing hyphenation bug, that took over 5 years to fix. It wasn't a serious issue, but FL kept getting reports about it from new customers.
Our bug reports may be important to us (or we probably wouldn't have reported them), but we can't expect that they're just as important to everyone else.
Until this issue reaches that critical threshold (or FL is working on another home screen issue and happens to also easily fix this issue), all we can do is be patient (and thankful for Logos in general).
Thanks to FL for including Carta and a Hebrew audio bible in Logos 9!

As I explained above I can reproduce the problem.
But I have never been aware of it until looking into it today and so don’t find it to be a problem to me personally.

Very interesting two replies. Is it not even more strange that this shows itself on some systems and not others since the problem originates within Logos itself?

I am experiencing the same problem and this is quite annoying. I do agree I can use the web app but it doesn't have the same flexibility as the native app. I need to find a resolution to this as it is very frustrating. I have uninstalled and re-installed the app from scratch but this isn't fixing the problem. I hope someone has a work-around. Thanks!

Well, here is a situation where the web app can't help me I'm traveling and there is no free wifi. I expected better from Logos and FaithLife. Im not using an obscure platform - I'm running Windows 10 on a PC. This should not be difficult to reproduce and fix. Please help. Thanks.

Your problem may not the the same as Bootjack's. Now the techs have reproduced that on their systems and are no doubt working on the fix Bootjack's problem may be solved but your's remain.
May I suggest that you
1. Contact customer services directly (I use Skype as I am not in the US).\
2. Start a new thread giving details of your problem, your system, and posting logs gathered just after an instance of the problem.
