Subscribing to Bible Study Tools - Cheap Too!

I got the free book of the month, plus the others too. Mindlessly, I decided to 'read' them on my Logos Bible app. Only one showed up. Sigh. Hard to refund a freeby.

But while I was wasting time, I took a look at the Logos Store (in the app). You can sign up for the Connect subscription. But they also offer a cheaper one for $4/mo. Of course, I naively wondered what was in it. So, I googled:

site:logos.com "bible study bundle" and "bible study tools (monthly subscription)" .... from the app's offer.

No mention in Logos.com. Faithlife.com even more sparse.

But Apple is happy to oblige, setting up the mystery subscription!  I was afraid to see if anything downloads.

Books.Logos, com also has a neat 8,000 volume theological subscription.

You might want to check for the commentaries again. They're all three showing up on my Android phone now. I think i remember this morning one was missing; I was in a hurry, so I don't remember which one.

Thank you, Warren. I did get one, so I started reading that one. Not to be excessively catty, but 'exegetical' seems a bit of a major stretch. Maybe it gets better with the other two.

Personally, I've found the Zondervan Exegetical Commentary series one of the best commentary sets for my personal use – although the James volume is rather thin. But Acts, Matthew and Ephesians, which I've used extensively, are very good, as is the overall structure and balance.

This is my personal Faithlife account. On 1 March 2022, I started working for Faithlife, and have a new 'official' user account. Posts on this account shouldn't be taken as official Faithlife views!

Well, I tried another, and the author is normally quite 'tight' ... excellent scholarship, good logic, footnoted sources, etc. So, maybe they get their instructions from the editor, and off they go.  And as noted, maybe it's pick and choose volumes (like most). Still, I'd think a good author would be a good author.

    Hi Denise--

A quick word on the Bible Study Bundle. We launched the BSB in April of last year to give iOS users a low-cost option for accessing theological resources. We've been hearing really good feedback from people-- it's a great entry-level product. Most of our iOS users are people who discover our app through App Store Search, and at $3.99 this product is a great fit for many of them.

The Connect Bundle is a mobile version of Faithlife Connect. Because of royalty considerations, Faithlife Connect Mobile includes the Bible Study Bundle whereas the Connect Subscription offered on Logos.com has different content.

We'd like to rethink how we talk about subscriptions in the iOS app, making it clearer what's included. Apple makes it easy to make sure that no customers can be subscribed to both subscriptions. They don't show up on Logos.com because the backend of these subscriptions are handled through Apple.

Here's a current list. Sorry for the formatting, this was just the quickest way to get it posted. :)

    Thank you, Daniel.

I generally have an over-active sense of humor. But I do wonder how the enthused subscribers knew what they were subscribing to. Being naive, I just assumed Connect was Connect, and BSB was associated with your magazine. BAR had something similar.

Well, anyway, looks like the list covers some waterfront. I won't ask about Verbum. And again, thank you.

    No problem, happy to clarify.

We are starting to explore what similar subscriptions could look like for both Verbum and our non-English Logos customers.
